Hotel Cala Galdana

Me,my wife and son stayed here for 11 nights right at the end of the season in fact the hotel closed the day after we left and I must say the hotel was fantastic but il start with the negatives: we had to pay nearly €100 when we first arrived for an environmental tax which I know a lot of countries do charge this now but thought it was a bit excessive, and the balcony you could just get 2 chairs on it which was a shame as we had a lovely sea view. The hotel is very good the food was one of the best we've had in Europe with a wide variety for breakfast and nice coffee which I don't find at much hotels and the evening meals were very good also, we didn't go to the evening entertainment so I can't comment on that, the pool was a good size although very cold and we never had any trouble getting a sunlounger by the pool but you have to pay €20 for a sun bed on the beach which we thought was expensive, the beach itself is lovely and we also walked to another cove beach approximately 2-3 kilometres away which was well worth it and take your snorkelling equipment as there is lots to see. It's our 2nd time to menorca now after visiting the Valentin son bou and would say this hotel is about the same in comparison, the area of cala galdana we found quite expensive in the restaurants and the mini golf over the road costing €4 per person. I would recommend this hotel but make sure you take a lot of cash with you

Got back last week from a relaxing break from this hotel . Check in quick and easy .Rception staff friendly. Good start Room on 2nd floor facing Pool with Juliet Balcony . Room was clean ,modern and unlike other reviews the plug sockets were ample . I had read the previous reviews before travelling and noted there was a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee so being a true Brit abroad took my own. There was a mini fridge in the room so we purschased some milk from the local supermarket so that was that small issue sorted . All staff in the hotel were welcoming we found and never once had cause to think they were not hard working and their English vocabulary being poor unlike other reviewers unbelievably ! Food was plentiful with lots of choice and if you can't find something to eat at breakfast and evening meal you must be eating out at a Michelin star restaurant every night back in the Uk . Waiting staff in the restaurant cleared tables quickly and also the Bedrooms were made up daily so once again no complaints The resort was quiet due to it coming up tithe end of season but the hotel put on entertainment every night inside although during the busier season it's put on on the outside stage . The beach is a 5 minute walk away and there's some lovely walks to other coves either direction of the hotel . There's a bus stop opposite the hotel with limited services to other parts of the island that we used . Overall a great hotel with hard working staff .

Just back from a tremendous holiday. We thought the Hotel provided great food, good service, excellent entertainment and value for money. We had a very peaceful week, hotel not too busy, and the Pool Area was quite quiet, for a change. Rooms were a bit iffy, ref plug points, etc. We decided to bring Tea and Coffee as there was a Kettle in the Room. We spent most days walking to the various Coves, and it was incredibly peaceful. Med was warm enough for a swim, and then back in the late afternoon for drinkies, and another dip in the Pool. Beautiful scenery, and unspoilt. Very relaxing holiday ! Thoroughly recommended !
