Zafiro Mallorca

Myself, my husband and 3 children spent a week here during the October half term. This was also the last week of the hotels / resorts season. The hotel was very nicely presented, it’s set in its own grounds which are well kept and maintained. The pools were a nice size with plenty of sun beds. The water bubble is great for kids and adults. The pool temperature was cold but it was October and it didn’t stop us from taking a dip. The indoor pool was great and the spa was a luxury. The hotel was clean but there were some communal areas that were tired and in need of some attention. We had 2 interconnecting rooms which were modern and provided us with lots of space. This included 2 kitchens, although we were not self catering. The pool side bar was nice and offered a varied menu/ lovely food with waiter service. However, because it was nearing the end of the season, they shut this down on the Thursday (3 days before the hotel was closing) which was a big disappointment. We were diverted to the evening buffet restaurant for lunch and the evening bar for drinks and ice creams. Unfortunately, they ran out of vanilla ice cream on this day. The following day, they ran out of chocolate ice cream and hot chocolate. The staff did not appear to be apologetic about this. Their attitude seemed to say “ what do you expect, we are closing on Sunday”. The all inclusive food was bland and repetitive. We stayed 4 star all inclusive during the summer and the food was poor in comparison. It provided limited choice which became more restricted as the week went on. On our last day, they had ran out of cereal. We could only assume that this was due to the dwindling numbers. We paid over £3,000 for this holiday and do not think that the end of season is justification for such compromises. Daytime ice creams are a basic fault holiday requirement in an all Inclusive package. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful but you couldn’t help but feel like some were winding down. Entertainment staff were nice and worked hard but it did seem like the focus was mainly on the little kids. We had a nice time but I don’t think we will be returning.

We just spent a fantastic week in Mallorca and we would like to thank Zafiro Hotel for being a biggest part of this success. Hotel. All the pictures we checked online are absolutely reflecting what the hotel is: beautiful swimming pools for kids and grownups, very cool kids’ area with water slides, a lot of space and chairs so even if there are a lot of people you don’t feel overcrowded, beautiful palms everywhere, waterfall, 2 playgrounds for kids, a big restaurant where they run BFasts and dinners, large patio next to the swimming pool bar where you will have lunch, outside entertainment area with a big stage and a hall for all the evening activities, very nice SPA area with sauna and hammam, and a good size gym with 4 treadmills and few more pieces of equipment. All the common areas are very clean and well taken care of. 2 pool tables, small tennis table, 2 tennis courts, pop-corn machine…You can also rent a surrey bike up to 6 people. Staff. The whole crew is amazing: very polite, helpful and be sure your request will be taken on the board straight away (either it is a key for a safe or massage appointment). Special thanks to a very nice and supportive receptionist Rafael. Maids are doing a great job: fast and clean. You will never run out of toilet paper and will have fresh bath towels. Room. Well equipped kitchen (microwave, kettle, fridge, hot-plate, cupboards, kitchen towels and all the crockery/silver needed. There are spacious balconies with a table and 3chairs, very good quality mattresses (I’m travelling a lot and this bit was a crucial for me), super clean no-spot bathrooms with a bathtub and a shower. TV is in the leaving room and a bedroom. All the information about Mallorca activities and beautifully presented books about this island. Dining area/Food. The quality of the food is a good class restaurant. The food is adapted to European taste, so you won’t miss English BFast, but at the same time there is always something local: paella for example. Chef is very good, and menu was different every day. A good choice of fish (3-5 kinds), meat with different type of sauce to any taste, plenty of garnish, 10 different types of dessert (YUMMY!!!) incl mousses, yogurts, ice-cream, cakes (choco n fruits). Every morning you can have few different smoothies made just in font of you. I think I ate twice more because every eve wanted to try something new😊 Kitchen crew was very good, especially waiters who were greeting at the entrance, unnoticeably running everywhere in the dining area removing dirty plates and taking new orders. SPA/Massage. I had two massage sessions with a top professional masseuse Nayara. She is also doing a lot of different beauty treatments. I don’t remember exactly the name of mine but I had one hour face treatment incl pilling, two masks and a light face and head massage. It was soooo relaxing I couldn’t move my body. All the prices were very good (comparing to London😊). Entertainment. Every evening we had a cool disco for kids, then quizzes and Bingo. All felt very relaxed (not only because of the tastiest Pina Coladas I’ve ever had) and kids loved it a lot. The staff was organising awards with prizes, inviting a big fluffy coala Izzi (everybody adored him😊), dancing and been very communicative with kids, so we could stay in peace for two hours. For Halloween we had some activities related to it: pumpkin carving, costume disco, the whole place was very well theme decorated too. There is no need to describe the area where the hotel is located, you can google it all, just to mention there are plenty of nice beaches and lagoons within 10-15min walk or drive, mountains just next, pine trees everywhere and a lot to see and visit around, so you will always stay entertained. Our next trip to Mallorca will be planned record fast because we already found OUR hotel😊 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR A WONDERFUL VOCATION!

When we go back to Mallorca we will certainly be staying at this hotel. Nice clean spacious rooms. Because it was our anniversary we found a personalized letter and some goodies in the room. I recommend
