Hotel Delfin Azul

Spent a week at this hotel, late October, the hotel was excellent, the staff were polite and friendly, the food was varied and well cooked. The hotel was immaculate, if I am being picky the room was small but the bathroom perfect. Always wanted to stay here and so glad we did! Would definitely stay again, the location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area and good bus links to the rest of the island.

We (60s plus couple) stayed for 3 nights after a Marella cruise. Hotel/Rooms 6 Storey building with south facing and some east facing rooms overlooking the pool. The rest of the rooms are north facing and overlook a quiet road. All rooms have a small balcony, however I believe there a few 1 bedroom rooms without a balcony. I emailed the hotel and asked for a high floor, pool view and we were allocated an east facing room on the 5th floor. This was a quiet room and had sun on the balcony until about 2 pm, although it did get some noise from the evening entertainment but as this finished about 11.30, this was not a problem. Good view with the sea in the distance. Very nice, smallish rooms which look to have been refurbished recently. Bathroom very modern with a large walk-in shower. Chargeable safe with a key, rather than the usual keypad. OK aircon and decent sized wall mounted TV with BBC, ITV etc. Beds are 2 singles pushed together, firm but comfortable. Rating 4 out of 5. Food. We were on half board, the hotel has 1 large, very busy buffet restaurant. Breakfast was OK with usual selections. You have to queue for omelettes and fried eggs, which were cooked on demand. Streaky bacon and sausages were of cheap quality, although one day they had decent back bacon. You are shown to a table for the evening meal and the a waiter will come (eventually!) and take your drinks order – the drinks are reasonably priced. Decent food selection in the evening and food quality OK, although meat quality was below average. Very busy at food stations and can be a bit of a free for all. Your empty plates can stack up on the table as the waiters struggle to cope There is also a Snack bar with reasonable drink and food prices, the food is really nice with big portions 3.5/5 Pool/General Areas Well kept pool area with newish looking sunbeds and parasols. We had no problem getting beds at any time of day, but it was a quiet time of year. Large pool with a separate kids paddling pool, also some fountains in the garden area for kids to play around. There is also a kids club. Seating area near reception and a games room with books and magazines. 4/5 Entertainment Evening kids disco and then professional acts at 9.00 which were of good standard. 4/5 Location Hotel is located just off the main road which runs up to Can Picafort, there is a bus stop very close by and the beach is about 200 metres away. Alcudia has a lovely long beach with sunbeds for hire at 6 euro each including a fixed straw parasol. Water sports available and the sea is very shallow here, so ideal for kids. There is a decent walkway at the back of the beach, turn left for Alcudia port (about 1 kilometre) and right carries on for a similar distance until turning to just sand. Alcudia is a large, family orientated resort, quite busy and a bit tatty in places. Personally we prefer Cala Millor/Cala Bona area, but Alcudia is fine really. There is a good regular bus service to Puerto Pollensa or Can Picafort, if you want a change of scenery. Weather. We had a mini heatwave in mid October, with temperatures of about 30, on our last day it dropped to about 21 which is more normal for October. Verdict Good, modern hotel which does everything well. We would return but would like to see the food quality improve.

I honestly can not fault this hotel we had a lovely break away and special thanks to TUI rep Wesley nothing was to much trouble for anyone would recommend this hotel and we will be back again with all our family x
