    The trio of good-looking pools at the Sol Lanzarote go toe-to-toe with a golden-sand beach.

    This place couldn't have done any better on the location front. It's right next to Hoyas Hondas beach, which unrolls for two kilometres.

    There's a great line-up of activities here. Younger guests can get involved at the kids' club, while adults have daily exercise classes to try. There's a big games room, too, and live shows in the evenings.

    Food was cold, glasses were chipped along with the plates etc. Room was ok, pool area was good. The pool bar was easy to use and snack food was better than the main restaurant. Entertainment was quite poor.

    Our first time to this Sol hotel and it couldn' have been better.On arrival a very quick check in after a short taxi journey from the airport costing 11 euros.We arrived at 12.15 and our room was ready - brilliant so no waiting around until 3.30. Lovely receptionist as were all the staff for our weeks stay..We thought it was the best hotel and holiday for ages and met lots of nice people. The ROOM- We got a ground floor room with a nice terrrace so good for sunbathing overlooking the pools and beach for no extra cost. A big plus.The room was always cleaned very well and we had 2 big comfie beds and pillows.The fridge was good as was the shower.Our cleaner was amazing and on the 2nd day of our hols requested it be cleaned by 11 am which was done.Plenty of clean towels and loo paper.Big tip make sure you bring your own soap and shampoo even though the room has dispensers for bath gel etc.Loads of cuboard space and drawers plus great air con.It was lovely to receive a bottle of Prosecco plus sweets on my husbands birthday plus a card - I did e mail the hotel in advance and it was complimentary. THE HOTEL COMPLEX- Very clean with lovely palm trees and plants and grass.Ther is a vending machine in reception which you can get water chocs sweets etc. The hotel shop inside reception was nice bought a spanish plastic fan for 4.5 euros so good if you go to a airport that is hot.A few healthy looking cats about 6 of them.Outside the entrance is the hotel supermarket which opens at 8 am sells the usual water ,nappies toiletries crisps etc. FOOD and DRINK- Excellent each to their own - plenty of choice.for all age groups. We had lovely pizzas from the Pool Bar and the lunchtime and evening menus in the main restuarant had a great choice, Tip - if you want really hot food go as soon as the main restuarant opens in the evening although there are cooking statioins where hot food is prepared directly for you, We had some lovely Chinese food on the 5th night of ou 7 day holiday. POOLS/BEACH - Lovely - no problems with sunbeds as there were always loads empty and we never saw anyone putting towels on the loungers early in the morning. ENTERTAINMENT/ACTIVITIES - This was really good and we especially liked the Grease show and the majic show The hotel really caters well for children both in the daytime and the evening with lots of activities. There is also a wonderful play area for the children outside, OTHER INFO - My husband had a great massage for 30 Euros; There is a washer and tmble dryer on site for 5 & 4 Euros; There is a great little shopping centrre about 4 minutes walk away - come out of the front of the hotel by reception and turn right. There is a pedestrain walkway and about 400 yards away the little shopping centre has shops, 4 Chinese restuarants, an Indian and a Japanese restuarant, a Spar supermarket, a Spanish supermarket and several bars. Our favourite bar was Decky Dillons, an Irish bar with great, good value food and drink and lots of TVs showing football and rugby + free Wifi. It also has entertainment at night. IN SUMMARY - our stay was brilliant and we will certainly be back, hopefully next October for longer than a week. Great for all ages, really convenient for the airport and excellent value.     We had a great family holiday at the Sol Lanzarote with 3 adults and 3 children (10, 7 and 7) in our party so took two rooms. These were spacious, the beds were typically Spanish and incredibly hard. We needed to request an extra duvet for the kids sharing the sofa bed as they were fighting over it however the hotel was happy to supply. Rooms were cleaned on a daily basis, well equipped with a kettle, microwave and fridge and in pretty good decorative order. The hotel staff are very friendly especially the entertainment team that run the kids club in the morning and afternoon and then do the evening shows. The kids really enjoyed these which gave us the chance to relax around the pool. We were not specifically told at check in about the kids club but knew it existed from our booking details and just looked for the information signs (next to the entrance to the restaurant) Food in the restaurant is good. It is buffet and by the end of the week you start to miss the option of being served and choosing from a menu but definitely that is a first world problem. I found it worth waiting for the freshly cooked grill dishes which usually had a choice of two meat and two fish varieties each day. There were some traditional Spanish dishes including rabbit and goat one evening. The kids tended to opt for the always present pasta and chips but could be guided to the other dishes. In terms of seats, worth going through the restaurant which is a bit canteen like to the external bar area which had Cava freely available and a very modern and pleasant environment. The hotel was built in the late 80s and if you look closely you notice the odd tile missing from the swimming pool and some areas looking a little warn but this is being hyper critical and did not impact our stay. Yes you have to get up early to get the sun beds. Quite a few palm trees which can block the sun. Also the sun sets behind the hotel so you need to be careful which area you get if you want late afternoon sun. Only the smaller kids pool was heated but if you went in this first the other two did not seem too icy. If you want the sea just go through the back gate and it is there. It is an extra €12 a day for 2 sun beds on the beach (not run by the hotel). The hotel is quite close to the airport about 2km away, perhaps as I live fairy close to Heathrow I did not notice the plane noise much. You can see them but you are not on the direct flight path. Tempted to go back next year.

    Excellent experience and room/facilities all round. Would in future avoid going within childrens holidays only for the fact that although plenty of sun loungers etc the beds were occupied with towels so very difficult to find a sun bed. The 30 minute rule for towels was not adhered to and towels were not removed. Believe that towels should not be allowed to be placed on sun loungers before breakfast and once placed should be occupied and seen to be occupied , that is the only down experience we had. It was only for the fact that the beach was literally across the road that I could enjoy my break. Believe that sun loungers should not be occupied by children under the age of maybe 10 due to the fact that they do not lie in the sun and are invariably in the pool most of the day.

    Just got back from a week here and we did have a great time but wouldn’t go back again. The standard of service, food, furniture and spaces were 3 star rather than what I would expect of a four star hotel. Our room was clean and the view was good - however the noise from the entertainment was so loud in our room that we gave the kids the main bedroom so that they were further away from it and because they were annoying each other sharing the small sofa bed. We had the very uncomfortable sofa bed. We slept badly every night - our feet stuck out the end and the duvet wasn’t big enough. The pool area is clean - only the central kids pool was heated though - the others were unpleasantly cold. The sun beds are plastic and so close together it’s difficult to get to/ through them. The beach is just out in front but there are no hotel sun beds on it so it’s €12 per day for 2 sun beds and a parasol on the beach. All the food and drinks are self-service. The food was fresh and varied and mostly well cooked - not much choice for vegetarians though. The wine was not great - although on tap we bought some from elsewhere. At check-in we weren’t told about the kids clubs so our kids never used them. The staff are efficient but not particularly friendly. The local buses are good and the bus stop is just a few mins walk from reception. Don’t bother booking a transfer from the airport - it’s so close it’s cheaper and easier to just get a cab. The hotel has no porters. The evening entertainment was mixed - the magic show was good and the kids enjoyed it all. However there was no other option of places to be in the evening other than in the very loud entertainment area. We did have a great holiday and no major complaints but next time we will be making sure we go to a proper 4 star hotel.
