This adults-only hotel gives you a peaceful pool scene and a beach on the doorstep. And the food’s first class, too.
This stylish hotel is tucked at the foot of a mountain, just metres from sandy Playa Taurito Beach. Its two pools come with first-class sea views. There’s a seafront restaurant, too.
In the evenings, live acts take to the stage, or you can retreat to the piano bar for a quiet cocktail. When you feel like going further afield, there’s a shuttle bus to pretty Puerto Mogan, which is less than five minutes away.

good quality accommodation shame about the 5 am towels on sun beds
The room , all inclusive aspect and general internal resources can not be faulted. Never have had such an open book on branded drinks policy including in the day ask for a Prosseco no problem to give you a bottle, The room had been updated and was excellent including the housekeeping aspect. The buffet style food was hot, generous and varied. waiters for drink were very good. The dining room in the evening was a bit bright which effects the atmosphere for dinner. Now outside because the terraces to the pool are quite full with beds you do feel a bit claustrophobic but get used to it, its probably like being on a cruise, but with the sun am being restricted by the cliffs (best description) people actually were up as early as 5 am putting towels on beds which becomes infectious for many. This spoils the outside area ,we never did it and allays found a spot to get sun. The outside bar is good loads on self serve on tap and the pool is good. As to outside the hotel in the bay , the bay bars, shops are tired but with such a good hotel just relax in its secure surroundings. before we went the pictures showed a aqua park which even when busy did not interfere including noise when in the hotel grounds. There is a harbor next door (less than a mile) with loads of bars, restaurants etc, unfortunately the road is blocked by a rock fall, so if you want to visit which is worth it, you have to take a taxi on a 20 minute ride or the hotel runs a free bus most days. One final detail worth mentioning , When we flew back, the airport messed up on the labeling on my wife's case, and it was missing for 2 weeks went to UK, then to Israel, then Croatia then back to Stanstead although we flew from Bournemouth, Thompson (now TUI) were not interested or at all helpful. Make sure you label your own bag and it is secure as i do get the impression that Gran Can aria handling is somewhat lacking.More
We arrived 4th Nov for a week We went with tui,We had a private transfer due to the hotel being on the south of island on the bus you would be last drop off On arriving the hotel ,the reception staff were friendly and informative and also a welcome drink of cava Black band is the normal one unless you upgrade to gold band One of my pictures had the list of the gold upgrade,We enquired how much to upgrade approx 23 euro per person per day Our room was well presented,We asked for an high floor and were on the 9th floor Water in fridge, kettle Walk in shower Cleaned everyday Food breakfast and dinner in a spacious room, plenty of choice for both Lunch was in a different place but still plenty of choice Staff mostly friendly,Just the odd one There are activities put on There a menu for wines ete Can take them to your room to enjoy It is a really relaxing place, the age group is 40ish upwards If you like a lot of night life, this isn't the resort, there a few shops and water park, crazy golf, but no bars We would go back as it was very relaxing More
A week away from 11.11.17 to 18.11.17 We booked this holiday for the Adults only & expectations was high. How wrong could we of been. The premier deluxe suite was ok clean & modern but we are pleased we didn’t upgrade to the Gold band for 23 Euro’s a day per person as it would of been a total waste of money, for the xtra you would of got. On arrival we was offered a glass of Cava which was ok. Our room was situated on the 2nd floor and we did have a good view, but we was surprised to read that we was only allowed to change the pool towels twice a week anything after that there was a charge, we have never heard anything like it at any other hotels we have been too. Aqua aerobic is the high light of the day it’s held from 12 until 1 and there is music which breaks the silence around the pool. I did however put my music on my phone on a low volume checking with the people around where we was sat as the sun beds are like sardines in a tin & a lady further up cane and asked me to turn it off, which I did. We are aged between 50 & 53 And would go to say this hotel is based at the older generation. The staff look miserable and didnt show much interaction with yourselves & some came over very rude to be honest. The piano bar closes at 11pm they just come up and blow out the candle on the table to get rid of you. I did notice two ladies trying to get at drink at 11.03pm and was told “CLOSED”go to the other bar. Right as for the food we have never experienced such POOR quality where ever we have been around the world and we are extremely well travelled. The food was always warm & never hot, soup included & tasteless. The cream of Tomato soup sticks in my mind I sure cuppa soups are thicker than what that was. There was no presentation with the food what so ever. The staff look so miserable and are too keen to swipe your plate away while one of you are still trying to eat. Again we where made to feel uncomfortable one evening in the restaurant with another couple we had met by trays dropping, switching lights off close to where was seated. We did meet two couples who had previously been to this hotel and they did say it had changed & they would definitely not be returning as the standard & atmosphere has dropped drastically. On a positive note the pool & sun bed area where kept clean. We will not be returning to this hotel.More
Our third visit to this hotel and we weren’t disappointed we have a lovely spacious room with a sea view. Staff were excellent nothing too much trouble. Food was of a good standard & plenty of it. Plenty of room by the poolMore
Premier Downgrade Anyone?
We booked this hotel on the premise that it was a luxurious adult only haven and the brochures made it look perfect so after what can only be described as a very uninspiring check in 75 minutes after official check in time we went to our refurbished premium suite which was ok but by no means a premium quality room, in fact of equal quality to a standard room. The first thing we noticed was a water park 20 metres from the hotel pool and sunbathing area, it is winter now so there were not many children at this park but you could clearly hear the few that were there screaming and shouting, generally being children which is fine but why would you open an adult only hotel so close to this facility? It must be horrendous in peak season. We stupidly had paid extra for the premier upgrade and our personal view is don’t waste your money for the extras you get are not worth it as the standard package gets you virtually the same apart from a very limited ‘better’ selection of drinks and a few in room extras which we could have easily lived without as the standard drinks are all branded and you eat the same food from the same restaurants so save yourself a few hundred quid and don’t bother. You get a romantic dinner on one (Mon - Thurs) night as part of the booking and it was the worst experience of romance we have ever been a part of as everybody has to eat the same food at the same time and it starts at 7 with a cocktail that tasted just like fruit juice and a tapas each where you have to sit a table as a couple and look into each others eyes while a photographer comes from table to table to take romantic photos. Then at 7:30 you are told to queue up to be given access to the restaurant area where you are seated for the dining experience which was like a bad wedding reception where the food was stone cold and not particularly nice. At the first opportunity we left and went and got some warm food from the main restaurant, The toilets at this hotel are a joke as they don’t seem to have discovered urinals for gentlemen so they mainly have one cubicle per toilet spread across 4/5 different areas to service the entire hotel population so as you can imagine sometimes a trip to the bathroom would take quite some time in the evening when people are drinking, the nearest gents toilet to the bars had 1 cubicle and 3 sinks? Despite what other reviewers have put we did not enjoy any of the cocktails on offer and the beer was in my view barely drinkable so we generally stuck to spirits and wine but one evening had to have a bottle of white wine with no ice bucket as the hotel was running low on ice! As previously mentioned in other reviews the wifi is awful even when sat in reception so don’t bring any tech that needs a good wifi connection as you won’t get one. Would I come here again? Probably not but if you do chose to go here and think you want premium upgrade do it on your 2nd day so you can judge for yourself whether it is worth it or not as we certainly didn’t think it was worth it, in fact quite the opposite we wanted to downgrade after 24 hours!More
