Room big and clean, very comfy beds, nice balcony . Pool and areas nice and clean water very cold, plenty of sunbeds. Bars good selection , good measures, no queues. Snack bar clean well stocked nice selection food lukewarm. Food hall big and interesting selection something for everyone but hot food was only ever lukewarm a real shame as the food itself was very good just not hot enough. Maybe a bank of microwaves would help if you like your food properly hot. Animation team very good especially Enui, fun and lively things to do and top table tennis fun to be had. We had a lovely holiday all staff very helpful and polite. just a shame about the heat of the food.

Our first time in this hotel (have stayed in Continental and Baobab) and we just loved it. Friendly and efficient check-in, in a very stylish foyer/reception area. We were really pleased when we got to our Deluxe room (a little extra cost) on the top floor of block F. A spacious, clean, modern room with large comfortable beds leading onto a large balcony over the fishpond and beautiful views across the Maspalomas dunes, resulting in golden sunsets. The deluxe option includes dressing gowns, top floor, 2 small wines, Nespresso coffee machine and special toiletries. However we were surprised that this only included 4 coffee pods for the entire stay, also one small bottle of water. The safe is not free which I would expect in a deluxe room. Wifi is great and a tv is available. Pool towels are €5, which is given back at the end of your stay, €1 to get new towel. One of the best attributes of the Catarina Hotel is the food. We were AI and we just loved it all, the breakfast was beautiful with lots of fresh healthy options. The lunch was relaxed with terrific salads, fish and meats. The dinner was themed and always hot and replenished when necessary. Cocktails are great, but we enjoyed the white and rose wines/beers which are self service. All management and staff were very friendly, always smiling which creates a great atmosphere throughout the hotel. We are not into hotel entertainment so didn't even watch it. The bonus for us was the solarium on the rooftop of block B which is Adult and naturist. I was so impressed with my stay, that today I booked it again for this November and I am looking forward to my return. Well done to all staff members in making the customer feel special.

We arrived on the 19th Dec.2019 for three weeks stay. Upgraded our room to de-luxe but did not seem very much better to the other rooms we looked at. Rooms were bit and kept clean not enough drawers and a very cheap open wardrobe area. Most of the furniture in the hotel rooms and public areas is very cheap looking and uncomfortable.I know this hotel has been re-furbished recently but it still looks cheap and cheerful, maybe this was the aim of the hotel. All the staff we had a dealings with were great and we never had any trouble at the bar for drinks etc. but do find that the limited option for cocktails in an All Inclusive hotel very puzzling, we could get whisky and coffee but if you asked for Irish coffee you had to pay ???? also asked for a mai tai cocktail again was told we had to pay???? they have all the ingredients but are told not to make certain cocktails have never found this a problem in other AI hotels but we usually go to the caribbean and they really have AI sorted properly. The food was sometimes very good, some times not so good but was nearly always nearly cold.Plates were red hot food luke warm. The two gala lunches christmas and new year were very good but do not where all the people appeared from do they just book in for xmas and new year gala, it seemed that way. the animation team worked very hard some shows were good others very poor mainly aimed at children. Show on New Years Eve was very good team worked very hard to make it special. Would not re-visit even though we enjoyed our stay, we are off to an adults only hotel next year.We were on the 5th floor at the end of the hotel near the dunes so very quiet and peaceful.
