There really is hours of entertainment for little ones in this fountain and slide filled shallow pool. Even better there are sunbeds you can keep a watchful eye from, plus there's another pool right next to it for older ones and family fun.

Perfect for children
We visit La Palmas in Gran canaria last month. Beautiful CLEAN hotel, rooms are amazing, we had an executive room so I am not sure how the standard rooms looks like. The housekeeper she was so lovely, every day our room was clean and tidy. They never change bedsheets only if you absolutely need to but they change the towels. The restaurant beautiful the food, all kind of different food there suited for vegetarians to all type of meats. Breakfast has to be my favourite so many options for kids and adults. Kids have their own section with selection of food suited for children. Pool was massive but very very cold for September, the weather was not the best, they have the gym time, quiz etc for entertainment through the day. The night time the entertainment for the kids starts late 9:00pm which it was very disappointed because my son was there for maximum 30 minutes, then he wanted to sleep. My son is 2,4 months but big boy. Its a kids hotel, all kids friendly, the entertainment should start from 6:00 7:00pm so kids can enjoy it. If you don't have kids, don't bother booking the hotel. It is a kids friendly hotel. More
Excellent Hotel and an extremely enjoyable holiday
This was our 2nd to the Orquidea and we were extremely impressed by its high standards. Excellent Food, Facilities, Evening entertainment , friendliness of Staff etc. Would not hesitate to stay here in future. Well DoneMore
We booked this hotel last minute following Monarch failure. We were so looking forward to staying at our favourite Elba Hotel in Lanzarote for my fiance's birthday so we were on a bit of a downer, but had to get away. To say that TUI and The Hotel Orquidea lifted our spirit is the understatement of the year. From check in , the plane with in flight entertainment, quick transfers, fast check in and the wonderful rooms we knew we had booked somewhere special. Our first encounter with the excellent customer service was our request to change rooms (we had booked a pool view, but did not initially get one). Our initial room was lovely and had a large wrap round balcony but not the view we wanted.. We spoke to Tui guest relation rep and our room was changed within 20 mins and was just perfect. All the TUI reps are available throughout the day to help and advise. They are so hardworking and are a credit to TUI and the hotel. Thank you. We were allocated room 514 (fifth floor) and the view was amazing, especially watching the sun rise over the sea in the morning. Rooms are spotlessly clean and are cleaned every day. Coffee making facilities are in the room. Large TV with limited channels. but you can purchase more if you need to (we didn't).. So where do we start, Probably the food, which is the best we have ever had in an all inclusive hotel and we have stayed in five star hotels. Breakfasts amazing, so much variety and well laid out, Liked the fact there was an adults only section to eat away from the kids. Dinner time was the best though with freshly carved meat cooked to perfection. Normally we like to eat out a few times, but we enjoyed it so much we didn't want to. Pool area was lovely and we always found a sun bed, no early darts to put towels on. You could use other hotels facilities to get more peace an quiet but we didn't feel the need. Good Pool snack bar if you didn't want to go for proper lunch. We do like to venture out though and the bus transport was excellent, so many places to see and do. Entertainment was first class. The hotel entertainment team were pure quality and the productions were of a professional standard. We had also lost a holiday we booked for January with Monarch and after just two days at the Orquidea we knew we wanted to come back so we booked again while we were there. Hopefully we will get a similar room.to repeat the experience we had. We only managed to fit one trip in, which was the MHT drag show. This was one of the funniest shows we have ever seen and you get a lovely meal and drinks refilled while you eat. We are counting the days to our return (made easier with the TUI app countdown to annoy our family with lol) To conclude this hotel has become our new favourite. Even though we travelled as a couple there is something for everyone. .More

2nd visit this year and once again faultless from start to finish. Yes there are the people that get up still at crazy times for sunbeds but like I've said before YOUR ON HOLIDAY chill they're are plenty of sunbeds beside or near the pool. I stayed with my family and once again the service from all hotel staff was impeccable from reception to waiting staff in the restaurant and bar staff even the staff carving and cooking in the restaurant always had a smile and the food again was very varied always something for everyone. Rooms are spotlessly clean and the beds so comfy and the shower room is fantastic and large for families which is great. Once again the kids went to the clubs and it was so lovely to see Paige again one of the TUI reps she is an absolute joy to talk to full of useful info about places to visit and the kids loved her . Thanks to all staff once again for an amazing stay in a beautiful hotel.More
Good hotel but packed
We went in half term time it was packed could not move round the pool. Life guards very good and pool clean as they stopped food being aloud out of food areas. Staff all very friendly. Breakfast very good lunch average but evening meals were poor and found it hard to get a seat. The kids enjoyed the shows and the tui staff all had good voices except the manager lady who was putting her self centre stage but was out of key a lot and her day singing round the pool had even the German guests cringing. The entertainment was directed more at German and Swedish guests sometimes the tui staff did not speak English sometimes when telling the kids stuff. The room was spotless and maids did a great job apart from when they cleaned the shower and left the guard protect upside down and the apartment flooded ( 2 suitcases ruined and a pair of expensive shoes had it) reception called to ask if we needed a maid and said they would send someone up straight away. 40 mins later they came when I spoke to reception they said they would get the manager to speak to us. Twice I went back and they said come back in 30 mins More
