The Gran Hotel La Hacienda has a couple of pools – one outside and another in the spa. The treatment menu reels off massages and beauty therapies, and there's a gym for workouts. The main restaurant dishes up buffet cuisine, and there's a pool bar and a café where you can order light bites. Sports-wise, you've got a couple of courts for tennis and football, plus a hotel-run kids' club. Night-time shows include musicals and dance performances.

FOOD & DRINK
Global buffets are laid out in the Riviera Maya restaurant. There are theme nights, too, where the hotel adopts a Caribbean or Mexican look for the evening.
There are a couple of places where you can pick up daytime snacks. La Choza Bar's positioned beside the pool, and La Bonita Café's inside near the lobby.

Breakfast is a lovely spread of pastries, jams, cereals and cold cut meats, plus bacon and eggs. Lunch and dinner serves up grilled meat, fresh fish and Mediterranean inspired dishes.
- La Bonita café
This café has 2 large TVs which occasionally show sports events. The drinks menu lists local and imported* alcohol, as well as soft drinks.
- La Choza
Beers, sangria, cocktails and local spirits are here, plus soft drinks including water and herbal teas. Lastly, imported brands* and cold snacks make the menu at this pool bar.
HEALTH & BEAUTY
The spa lines up a Finnish sauna, a pool with water jets and a hot tub. There are massages* and facial treatments* on the pamper menu, plus a gym where you can work out.
Work up a sweat in the hotel's modern gym filled with cardio and weight equipment.
- Turkish bath*
Guests wanting to unwind in utter bliss can make use of the Finnish sauna, Turkish bath and Vichy shower, plus an aquatic area with indoor pool and hot tub.
- Beauty salon/treatments*
Mani-pedis, massages and facials are just some of the pampering treatments on the menu.
Dance competitions, Mr and Mrs contests and karaoke nights are cued up in the bar. There are also musical performances of shows like Peter Pan and the Lion King.
- Kids' clubs
The mini-club is for children aged 4 to 6 years, and the junior club is for ages 7 to 11 years. Children under 4 years of age are welcome, however must be supervised by an adult at all times. They'll be kept busy with arts and crafts, cooking classes and drawing competitions.
- Themed parties
Themed evenings include a Caribbean, Medieval, Latin and Mexican night, plus on Sundays there's a paella live-cooking show.
- Evening entertainment programme
Dance competitions, Mr and Mrs contests and musical performances are on the evening entertainment schedule.
The two pools are a little-and-large combo. The main one's set on the outdoor terrace, with a shallow children's pool beside it. You'll find the other one hidden away in the spa.
- Outdoor pool
The outdoor pool's a decent size with a kids' pool bolted-on, too. There are plenty of sunloungers evenly spread out across the spacious terrace.
- Indoor pool*
The indoor pool's located in the hotel's spa area. It's a rectangular number with sunbeds lining its edges. Just so you know, a swimming cap must be worn in this pool.
