The ClubHotel Riu Chiclana doesn't scrimp on facilities. This lively hotel teams access to the beach with great pool and dining scenes, and a packed entertainment schedule.
The ClubHotel Riu Chiclana is a grand-looking whitewashed property, spread out among manicured lawns and palm-lined walkways. It’s got peaceful surroundings, but is only a 10-minute walk from the beach. There's plenty in the way of activities here, too.
This hotel does family-friendly with a deluxe twist – the pool area has a faux lighthouse and a children's splash park, the buffet restaurant is all dark wood furniture and linen, and you can upgrade to a roomy family suite.

Third Return visit
Stayed for first two weeks of October 2017,room cleaning excellent,Food very good standard, staff always helpful and cheerful. The downside is lack of control of rampant children, especially German. Regularly German children were running out of the indoor pool, and in the evening throughout the reception area until late, they were unruly, noisey and had disregard of anyone.I complained to reception ,but to little effect. Although not responsible, the superb beach is being ruined by dog mess, most mornings many local Spanish dog owners excercise there dogs along the restricted dog beaches ,allowing them to mess the beach ,it seems that the local dog owners don't respect the local laws?.The local police were present on many occasions,so they have no interest. It will be a great clamity if this beach is ruined by irresponsible local dog owners!More
Excellent . . . . for many
This is a big, big complex run like a well-oiled machine. We found the staff working hard, happy and smiling - amazing considering they're nearing the end of a long season which featured some extremely high summer temperatures. Good choice of food and plenty for all. Our only downside was the rudeness and bad manners of some of our fellow guests displayed in the dining room. Also the inability of some parents to control their children. The "brought-in" entertainment was good, the "in-house" less so. Our room was in building 22. Hair dryer with fixed lead in bathroom but no stool to sit on whilst you dried your hair. Top edge of bath and surrounding tiling about 8 inches wide, so stepping out in particular requires care. Small shop on site. Nearest supermarket 20 min walk away at largely unoccupied complex at Tartessus (turn right out of hotel, then left at roundabout and continue to next roundabout) or at Center Commercial Nova Center 40 min walk (turn left out of hotel, turn left at roundabout and continue to next roundabout). On a personal note probably wouldn't return to this hotel, since preferring somewhere quieter and more suited to couples. Having said that, the hotel is excellent and to be recommended for what it provides for the vast majority of its guests.More
Just returned from our 4th visit to this hotel and if anything it was better than ever! The hotel is spotless and this time the food was really good (it was never bad but even better this year!!) and the weather was stunning!!! For us the location makes it the perfect spot - a short walk to the most stunning beach (and we're from Cornwall!!). The only downside for my husband was that there was a perfect wave - but no surf hire available at this time of year!! Everything outside the hotel was beginning to close for the winter but if you just want to relax this us the place! The only negative was the amount of children there in the second week - another year I will check the dates of the German half term!! But the first week was perfect! Thank you once again and see you next year after your refit!More
A great holiday
A very friendly and happy place to go. Busy?yes, noisy by the pool? yes, but a very well run hotel. Food great, lots of variety.if you want to get away for some quiet the beach is a lovely place to walk for those able to take the steps Iced coffee is recommended!More
Third time unlucky
Having had two wonderful holidays at this hotel we decided to go again. The hotel was very busy so much so when they decided to close one of the restaurants it was just impossible. Tables not laid. No coffee pots available, no cups and saucers. We had to queue endlessly. The pool area was unsafe as there where glasses everywhere. People eating in the pool. At the grill people had no shoes or t shirts on! Incredible! The poolside bar could not cope with the quantity of guests. The coffee machine was not working most days. No cups and saucers.More
