With tropical gardens, bloom-framed pools and a tranquil spa, the Barcelo Asia Garden Hotel & Thai Spa offers a taste of the Orient.
Coral-coloured buildings, Babylon-esque hanging gardens, and koi ponds spotted with lily pads make this place feel like it’s been lifted from the Far East. Rooms are dressed in Japanese-style neutral tones, and even come with kimonos.
The property is set at the foot of the Sierra de Cortina mountains, and its hillside position offers widescreen views of the ocean. When you want to explore, the nearest beaches are a half-hour walk, or a short cab ride, away.

Wanted tranquility near Benidorm
So needed to relax , so booked this hotel and being near Benidorm town it would suit my husband. Overall the hotel grounds and pools are beautiful, with the aroma of the many plants being with you as you walk the grounds. Various pools in various parts of the grounds, including an adults one and a couple of heated, although we only went to one, the zhen area with snack bar. My husband preferred this for his bones.. but so did the families.. wouldn’t be so bad but for the continuous screaming of the kids in high pitch tone.. too much for me. We tried various other pool areas, but you couldn’t get away from the noise, not even in the restaurants.. not so tranquil for me. We ate in the pool side restaurant, the snack bar and had the buffet one evening 96 Euro for two but included all drinks. The snack bar doesn’t look very inviting, very dark walls...... but the staff are lovely, and whilst by the poolside the staff bought out sticks with fruit on, complimentary. Overall The food is nice but it’s really expensive to do this everyday, for us that is, and I like nice. Taxi into Benidorm cost around 13-15 Euro, one way. Would be nice for a bus service to be available somewhere close by the main gates. The spa , I have regular treatments in the uk and couldn’t justify the cost of the treatments although there was a large selection available if booked in advance. Our room was out of the main hotel and through the gardens. Room was spacious with bathroom separate shower and toilet with complimentary toiletries. We had a balcony but no view as we had a large tree/plant that blocked it so no point sitting out there. There are pool towels readily available, with your cards given on arrival, however the huts are not always manned so you can just get towels without a card, but then people don’t bother taking them back so the sun beds look like they are being used. went in October and there were plenty of sun beds wherever we went, sun dependent. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and look great in their matching uniforms....More
More than the best
To share or not to share with open public, this is my question. We were looking for a quiet place located in a perfect weather zone and it was the case. Service, rooms, swimming pools, food, restaurants, location, masages, spa, yoga sesion, .... everything was more than perfect. For sure, we will come back!!!More
Accommodating and friendly
Visited here for a work conference. Beautiful grounds/gardens and pool, very pretty. Rooms were lovely, spacious with huge beds and your own private garden area, although a couple of light and plug fittings were loose and coming away from wall! We all had a lovely time here. One word of warning though, be sure to take insect repellant as there are a few midges about because of the water, they feasted on me a bit! One thing that really stood out was their accommodating, friendly assistance when we all got stranded/our flight was cancelled due to air traffic strikes in France, they put us all up the extra night before we headed off to Madrid. No one was complaining! Thanks Asia gardens! More
Very helpful staff
We were at Asia Gardens for a conference. The facilities are excellent, the rooms very comfortable and the food superb. We had to extend our stay when there was an air traffic strike which meant that 60 of us returned late at night. The staff were very helpful and could not have done more to assist in difficult circumstances. From booking us into rooms late at night, allowing a late check out, booking a coach and providing lunch they were a real credit to their company. More
Nice but some flaws
Anniversary trip. Fantastic looking hotel but for the price I would expect a few flaws to be a addressed better and was not dealt with for me. On arrival the room I was given had two single beds. Reception could not offer a change of room. Only solution was to redo the bedding and try it make it look like a double bed. Not the greatest sleep. The other issue which is annoying and you would not expect from a 5 star hotel. NO iron or ironing board and no ironing room. Went to dinner at their top restaurant in creased clothes. More
