The classic Hotel Alisios puts you in a great spot, just steps from the beach and only a short walk from Albufeira.
Sea views are part of the deal at this hotel. It occupies a spot on the edge of a small cliff, with a stretch of golden sand directly beneath. You can walk to Albufeira’s cobbled Old Town in less than 10 minutes.
The hotel’s doors open up to elegant interiors. The marble-floored lobby features high-backed chairs placed around vintage rugs. It’s a similar story in the rooms, where fawn-coloured fabrics are paired with dark-wood furniture.

The little touches make the difference
We have been to Albufeira a number of times and always wondered what it would be like to stay at this hotel. This year we did and were not disappointed. Check in can set the tone of your stay and the very friendly and informative lady on reception gave us the perfect start. The room, although, on the road side of the hotel met all our needs. Cleaned every day with fresh towels as required. Free air con and fridge, with a reasonable charge of 1.40 euro per day for the safety deposit box. Comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent power shower with complimentary toiletries. Small private balcony with two chairs and a table. We didn't use the sun deck as we found it too hot and preferred the cool breeze on the beach. Lovely balcony terrace next to the bar. Every staff member we came into contact with was friendly, professional and appeared to enjoy working there. Their appearance in their crisp white a blue uniforms was very smart. Bar prices were very reasonable for a hotel. It was my birthday during my holiday and on the day of my birthday, at breakfast, i received a small birthday cake with my name on and bottle of wine was left in my room. This was unexpected and these small touches can make a huge difference to your stay. Breakfast was a mixture of cereals the usual cheeses and hams or cooked bacon, sausage and scrambled egg. You could also order eggs cooked to your preference from a member of staff. Located just on the edge of the old town we found the location perfect for our needs. Turn left out of the hotel and It was a 5 minute walk to the escalators that took you down into the old town. Our favourite restaurants were Ricardo's Italian and Casa Da Fonte. We found the bars of bar street a bit over crowded and loud and the drinks over priced for the quality. Away from bar street the bars were a little empty and too quite, but drinks were better quality. If you turn right out of the hotel and right at the next turning there is a great sports bar and it's 2.50 euro a pint. This road also leads you down to the beach. Overall a great hotel, which the owners obviously take a great pride in, in a prime location right on the beach. I would definitely stay here again.More
excellent Stay despite injury to foot
From the time we arrived at the Hotel, the service we received was excellent. Upon our arrival I couldn't get the electrical adaptor to work, or the safe. Twice the Reception staff came up to our room immediately and rectified the situation. The Staff all gave 110% and the food was excellent. The view overlooking the Terrace to the Sea was the best I have experienced. Unfortunately after the 4th day of our holiday we were confined to the Hotel as I sustained an injury to my foot which prevented me from walking. Again, the hotel provided a wheelchair so I could move around but not outside the hotel at this area is quite 'hilly' and with cobbled streets is not compatible with a wheelchair. Again al the staff went out of their way to help me and my husband (we are both elderly). Upon our departure the owner came to say goodbye and presented us with a farewell gift (2 tee-shirts) which was much appreciated. We hope to go back next year where we will, hopefully, enjoy all that the Hotel offers and the area too.More
Excellent Hotel and Service
I came upon this hotel by chance at approximately 19:30 one evening when I needed to find two rooms for three nights for myself, my wife and grown-up daughter. The lady Receptionist was exceedingly helpful and with Mr Jose Leandro’s (the owner) personal input they were able to find me the last two available rooms (albeit we had to change after the first night due to prior bookings). This initial meeting was a taste of the commitment to service that we subsequently encountered throughout the hotel staff from the receptionists, waiters, bar staff and chambermaids. We eventually turned up with our luggage around 21:15 and checked in. The receptionist contacted the hotel restaurant to advise them we would be staying for dinner just as they were closing at 21:30. It would have been easy to say the restaurant was closing and couldn’t accept us but they put themselves out and at no time during the ensuing meal did we feel rushed to eat our meals and finish quickly. On the first night we had sea view rooms overlooking the beach (which was marvellous) but had to forego these to have inward facing rooms towards the town on the subsequent evenings. The reasonably sized rooms were identical except for the views and all had balconies. The rooms were spotlessly clean with good firm comfortable beds, plenty of wardrobe and drawer storage, good lighting and a nice sized ensuite with a large reliable shower. It was also nice that a lockable empty mini bar type fridge was provided into which you could store any of your own drinks. Room service was available but we didn’t use it at any time throughout our short stay. There was quite a reasonable selection of dishes and wines on the restaurant menu with both internal and external terrace tables. We had dinner on two of the three nights and the meals and wine were really good and reasonably priced. Unfortunately we didn’t eat on the one night they had a barbeque (we didn’t realise there was a barbeque otherwise we would have stayed). It did look lovely with some tremendous looking sweet dishes and gateaux for pudding. Breakfast which also was very good was served in a different location on the lower ground floor with, again, both internal and external tables. This was self-service and was a varied choice consisting of continental type breakfast (cold meats and cheeses), plenty of different fruits, cereals, breads, cakes together with choices of hot food (sausages, bacon, eggs, beans etc). We did not avail ourselves of the indoor pool (which also looked spotlessly clean) or the sunbeds on the terrace as we spent the days on the beach sunbeds at NoSolo Agua (an excellent beach bar/restaurant – see my separate review) just a short walk easterly along the beach very near the hotel. I have stayed at a number of hotels on the continent and in the UK during my 70 years and this hotel ranks up there with the best. I spoke with a number of guests who told me they had returned to the hotel year after year because the staff and owners were so good and committed to giving their guests a wonderful experience. After just three nights I can fully agree with their views. The hotel has 112 rooms and throughout is clean and spotless, well organised and the service commitment from all of the staff was wonderful. It was a joy to stay there. I must also mention Mrs Regina Leandro ( Joses’ wife and Hotel Director) who was also extremely helpful on our last day. We weren’t leaving Albufeira until 19:15 and we wanted to spend most of it on the NoSolo Agua’s sun beds (again !). Regina was so accommodating to not only allow us to leave our suitcases in storage (which is usual these days) but after our final day on the beach provided us with bath towels and allowed us to shower and change before getting a taxi to the airport. I highly recommend this hotel and suggest if you are going to Albufeira you book this hotel early as rooms are apparently booked well in advance.More
A big thank you to all the staff for making our holiday as perfect as last year. Once again the rooms were spotless, the staff were polite and helpful and the service first class. The bottle of wine waiting for us in our room was a very kind gesture along with the note.Looking forward to booking a return holiday next year.More
