Swanky and intimate, with a countryside setting, the Cerro da Marina is the ideal adult getaway.
The hillside setting of this hotel gives you impressive views of the countryside, the marina and the ocean. It’s quiet, but you’re not cut off – the beach is about a 15-minute stroll away, while the town’s main square is a bit further.
The interiors here are really chic. Crisp-white walls, sprawling sofas and mood lighting fill the lobby. In the rooms, peachy shades and draped canopies over the beds create a romantic feel.

Nice and quiet
Just returned from a ten day stay at this hotel. Started a bit rocky as we had to wait for our room. First time ever we had to do this in 13 years of holidaying. Eventually got to our room which was very nice over looking the garden and pool. Very small hotel and getting towards the end of the season it was lovely and quiet. Plenty of room round the pool and no rushing for the sun beds. Breakfast was filling with plenty of choice. Stayed b+b so can't comment on evening meal. The main drawback for this hotel is it's position almost on top of a steep hill. If you have any mobility problems this hotel is not for you. To get anywhere it was about a 20 min walk down but longer back. You can get a taxi for around 5€ which we needed a couple of times. Facilities were good and hotel very clean, honesty bar was a good idea as there was never any one round in the evening and no entertainment to speak of. The staff were brilliant and kept everything up together. Would we stay here again no... this is because of the position. We were told that this hotel was first owned by Cliff Richard wether this is true I don't know. But the hot tub in the garden was great we used it every day... More
Lovely Quiet Hotel
Lovely place to stay - only about 24 or so rooms on two stories. Plenty of space inside, and outside around the pool, surrounded by a pretty garden. We stayed bed and breakfast, with the evening meal pre booked by 12.00 midday if required. It is about a 15 minute walk to old town/beach - down hill, to visit any restaurant/bar, of which you are spoilt for choice. Although the walk back up to hotel could be pleasant, a taxi can easily be got for between 5 and 6 euros. Hotel Cerro da Marina a very nice place to stay.More
Relaxing Getaway - Needs an upgrade
Just returned from 2 weeks at the cerro. We have been before (over 10 years ago) and it was exactly the same. Yes it has many positive attributes as identified in previous effusive reviews however, the place has a feel of a medium class of nursing home (particularly when you factor in the clientele many of whom are repeat customers aged 50+) The furniture is elderly and the place would be better without all of the old furniture inside and a white paint job. The rooms are large - they would benefit from a refit as the bathrooms are inappropriately large but yet have a very small number of usable plug points. I cannot fault the staff who all work incredibly hard to make your stay comfortable. PLEASE change the beds & pillows they are very hard. Albufiera old town has changed and not for the better. The bar street has infiltrated the rest of the old town and it felt cheap, rough and full of drunken (English) people. I also visited the strip OMG what a deeply unpleasant place. There were some good restaurants mainly located on the outskirts of the old town. Tried a tuk tuk that was a great laugh (albeit a bit scary).More
Nice quiet holiday
We have stayed here for the last two years. A great place for a quite holiday. Situated on a hill about 15 minuets walk to the main town. The walk back can be a bit strenuous, however a taxi is only 4-5 Euro. In our opinion the hotel is kept very clean and the staff are absolutely wonderful. We found the beds very hard and we have noticed that this has been an ongoing complaint. The hotel is getting a little dated. The decor, particularly on the exterior, needs attention and most of the sun beds need renewing. Breakfast is more than adequate and the evening meal, if you choose to have it, for the price, is acceptable, although the choice is somewhat limited.More
