A town of contrasts

Little coves, concrete beaches, parks laden with eucalyptus trees, and a military complex right by the sea – Kumbor’s a place of contrasts. This small town’s a 10-minute drive to Herceg Novi, which has got an old quarter dating back to the 1400s and more mimosa trees than anywhere else in the region.

Peace and quiet

Sugar-coloured houses with terracotta roofs peer out across the admiral-blue water of the Bay of Kotor. And it’s all very peaceful, because Kumbor’s a small player in this part of Montenegro. It’s got a petite marina that’s scattered with minimal bars and restaurants – perfect for avoiding summertime crowds.

Best sunsets around

Kumbor’s calling card is its location. A boat trip past the looming pea-green cliffs of the bay is a must-do, as is a jaunt to the quaint fishing village of Rose. And its best-kept secret is its sunsets. Kumbor’s said to have the most beautiful dusks in all of Montenegro.
