Great location and pool, but ...

We have just returned from Nydri, having stayed in these apartments for one week. While they were clean, and we had a good view of the pool (from Room 8 in the smaller block), they were very basic, as one would expect in Greece, and you get what you pay for. This was fine, and the room was comfortable, with a reasonably sized bathroom and one of the best showers I've had in any Greek accommodation, but the towels and bed linen were only changed once during our stay. I have to agree with other reviewers that Costas was not the easiest man to engage in any conversation, and we saw absolutely no trace of Sophie, unless she was the young lady working behind the bar. As for the bar itself, we felt that the drinks were a little expensive, so only frequented it once. However, there were several bars and tavernas on the front where you could eat and drink at a reasonable cost, and the apartments are conveniently located about 2 minutes walk from the harbour.
Perfect Position and Perfectly Clean

Stayed here for 2 weeks and cannot recommend the place more, although quite an old building it was kept very clean and tidy by the staff. The rooms were basic admittedly but the beds were comfortable, kitchenette adequately stocked with a big fridge freezer available. The room had a safety deposit box and a much needed air conditioning unit which did work. The picture attached is from our balcony overlooking the mountains and it was very pleasant to sit and watch the sun go down at the end of a busy day. Kostas was always available to help guests with any problems or questions, and once engaged in conversation he will tell you all about Nidri and the surrounding places. The best thing about here though was the positioning, set back 100 yards from the Main Street it was relatively quiet but only 2 minutes from the centre of town and the main port. You could not ask for a more convenient location. For those who want a hotel that is clean and comfortable who don’t want to spend 15 hours a day plus in their rooms this is a must visit. It is very reasonably priced and won’t tax your wallets too much, leaving more funds for the food and the beer! Have already booked to go back next year.
Deserves a decent rating

This place deserves a decent rating because you get what you pay for. Everything was adequate and that includes the price. We spent 11 days at the end of season (late Sep-early Oct 2017) Shower basic. Room basic. Balcony basic. Cooker basic not used. TV basic not used. Bar basic used once. Swimming quite impressive but not used. PRICE BASIC. Kostas comes over as grumpy (which features on so many reviews). He isn't!! I saw him deal with some very difficult, rude and bordering on aggressive customers firmly and with a patience they didn't deserve. He's just the type of chap who isn't a laugh a minute and you get what you see, a totally genuine man. He could not have been more helpful during the Monarch Airline debacle which is more than the Monarch reps or our own Travel Agent. If you are on a budget stay here, you won't be let down. Just be realistic about what to expect.
Very nice, basic accommodation

We have just returned from 2 weeks at Kostas and Sofies in Nidri. We have enjoyed our stay. Kostas is a nice guy, and Sofie is very nice and chatty. Our room was the basic Greek standard. Cooking equipment was minimal, (a microwave would have been very useful). The rooms were very clean with a daily maid service. The walk to the waterfalls is highly recommended, it takes about an hour to get there, so set off early to avoid the worst of the heat. Very nice taverna at the falls too. Would also recommend the island hopping cruise. We booked it in Nidri for €25 and it lasts all day( very tired by the end). Nidri itself is located in beautiful scenery with many islands just off the coast. Some nice bars and tavernas in town. All the beaches we saw on Keflada and the others islands are very pretty with clear seawater, but all have shingle beaches, so can be painful getting in and out of the sea. Overall would recommend this hotel and resort and we will probably return soon.
