    This hotel’s got some great views, thanks to its peaceful setting on a hilltop overlooking the Ionian Sea. It’s a traditional-style property that’s surrounded by olive trees, roses and bougainvillea.

    Peaceful relaxing stay

    We knew when we booked this hotel would be up a steep hill - we walked up and down it quite a few times (didn't need a torch as well lit coming up the hill at night) but we did succumb to taxis three times after evenings out. There is an alternative way - go out of the hotel reception and turn right up the hill then left across and into town - wouldn't walk home that way in the dark though , no lighting. This is a lovely peaceful hotel - the views at breakfast are breathtaking . The rooms are basic but in saying that the bed (double) was comfortable as were the pillows. We paid 20 euros for a safe but didn't have air con as could open door at night. The room is quite big with a wardrobe that has plenty of hangers, a fridge (no freezer compartment tho), TV, a big bathroom with a shower and powerful hairdryer. Plenty of hot water too. Just a small criticism - could have done with a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. Sophia was really friendly and was always around for any questions etc, Also a special mention to Joanna who served at breakfast - she was lovely and always said hello. The breakfast was nice, orange juice, water and coffee. Cereals, different breads to toast with butter, peach jam or strawberry (I think) or you could make toasties with cheese, meat and tomato. Delicious greek yoghurt, with honey, peaches, oranges or apple and yes the wasps are a bit of a pain. The pool area had a lovely view of the sea, plenty of beds and umbrellas, the only thing was that the umbrellas were wedged with large stones so couldn't be moved around to block the sun out - which is a problem for us fair skinned folks. The hotel reception had a big book swap library so I was in my element - choosing books I wouldn't normally read. There were a few magazines too. Thank you Livadaki for a lovely relaxing holiday.
    Great place to stay

    This hotel was in a very peaceful place, the views were stunning, pool area lovely as were all the staff. The breakfast was absolutely fine and more than enough variety. I really don't understand why other travellers have had any issue with it. A kettle in the room would have been nice and that is my only suggestion. The "hill" was ok, if you turn right instead of left the walk into Scale is a bit longer & flatter . I travelled on my own as I often do and ate in Scala most nights. The pines restaurant I found was fabulous with really friendly staff. I took a day trip to Olympia which was a little expensive but a full day and very interesting. Overall a fabulous relaxing week and would efinitely go back to this Hotel.
    Relaxing holiday

    This Hotel is so lovely, it's peaceful and the view from the pool and bar area is beautiful. Our room was clean and spacious and the bathroom had a shower cubicle and not a curtain, which I was happy about. We met some lovely people too, especially Richard and Caroline from Cardiff. Sofia is just the sweetest lady and nothing is too much trouble for her. We also had some long chats with David in the bar and he is such a pleasure to talk to and hopefully one day he will be the doctor on the island. The walk up and down the hill was fine most of the time. Will definitely return to this beautiful hotel. Thank-you to the lovely Sofia and all her staff for making our holiday a wonderful one. See you soon.

    Firstly let's address the elephant in the room the hill ??it is steep and for some people a bit to much to manage but for others quite easy we got a cab back every night costing 5 euros which suited us, but the views from our room and the pool were more than worth it they are stunning and something you won't get at sea level, The room we had was lovely cleaned everyday bed comfortable and in general a lovely room,the fridge is free but you have to pay for the Aircon and safe which puts an extra 65euros on your stay for the week so be prepared the staff were all lovely and very pleasant and were very hospitable,now that breakfast lots of people on here moaning about it but being an honest reveiwer I will tell you !!you ain't going to starve there is the usual fare you have toast,ham ,cheese, yogurt, there is a little fruit coffee ,juice muesli I had a coffee and a cheese toastie and juice and that did me and was happy with that but if you want a full English breakfast then town does them for around 5euros,so to sum up views stunning staff lovely rooms lovely lovely little hotel would I go there again yeah would I recommend yeah definitely one little tip is if your coming with hand luggage only is book a cab with kefalonia taxis for around 55euros so it's straight of the plane into a cab and there we was here an hour and a half and was on our second beer before the coach pulled up money well spent in my eyes hope this helps you all
    Relaxing holiday with beautiful views

    We had a lovely relaxing week staying at Livadaki. We had two rooms both of which were a good size. Housekeeping visited daily and made beds and emptied bins. They also changed bedding and towels once or twice during week. The rooms were basic but were fine for us for the week. The only thing we missed was a kettle in the room. We found all of the staff at the hotel to be lovely - friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely fine with cheese and ham toasties, bread for toast, cereals, yoghurt with honey (delicious), and lovely fruit. The views from the hotel were beautiful particularly from the pool area. There were plenty of sun beds for everyone however there were usually only a few people at the pool. Skala was a friendly town which we walked down to each evening for dinner (there are some fabulous restaurants in town). We always got a taxi back for 5 euros. We hired a car for three days from Pefanis Car Hire. They were fantastic, very straight forward, dropping at and collecting the car from the hotel. We drove to Fiskardo, Argostoli (to see the turtles in the harbour), Samos, Melissani Caves, Myrtos Beach and Kaminia Beach. We wish we’d hired the car for a few more days as there was so many beautiful places to visit. We would definitely return to Kefalonia and would also recommend Livadaki for a quiet, relaxing, small and friendly hotel which was good value for money.
