Wow.. I can only back up what's been said by other posters on here. It is a fabulously run hotel from the initial warm greeting to the final departure. Excellent location by the beach, superb room facilities, food you can choose from 4 restaurants and the staff are seriously friendly :-) Would like to rebook.. we're saving our pennies already .. thank you

Having stayed in this fabulous hotel in the first couple of weeks of it opening in April we couldn't wait 12 months to come back so we came back in October. When we left last time I really think it couldn't get any better. How wrong could I have been! All the new little touches like water in cooler bags and the Sun bed allocation are fantastic. As always the staff are amazing and so friendly. We had only been in the hotel 1 hour when we booked to come back again for our hattrick of visits in February next year and if all goes well we might be out for the new year festivities also. The management of this hotel are first class and this runs from them into all the team. Absolutely loved the management cocktail evening!! Absolutely brilliant Hotel and holiday and we cannot wait to return.

Put simply, the Amavi is the best hotel I've stayed in and we were desperately sad when our time there came to an end. The hotel gets almost everything right from the big things (beautiful grounds, great facilities, spotless cleanliness) to the little things (how friendly and welcoming every member of staff was). From the moment we checked in to the moment we left, we were treated incredibly and it really did make every other 5 star hotel I've stayed in seem just a little bit shabby. I'll have a go at summarising the good and bad a bit more clearly; The good; - The service; every single member of staff was friendly, spoke good English and went out of their way to help - The allocated lounger system by the pool where you select your chairs and they're assigned to you (unless you choose to change them) for the duration of your stay - The pools; a beautiful large pool and (our favourite) a smaller, quieter pool with jacuzzi areas and water showers/jets overhead. The only thing was that the water was cold but we visited in November so I'm sure it's warmer in the summer - You're given complimentary bottles of water when you go to your lounger each day. Each pair of loungers has a lockable table for valuables and at approx 3pm, the staff come around with a complimentary fruit skewer or ice lolly - The food in all of the restaurants was amazing. Even the standard buffet restaurant was terrific with a great choice and really good quality. You also get a bottle of wine between 2 with every meal and unlimited soft drinks. Our favourite restaurant was Fort O Lana which had a nice, relaxed atmosphere and, we thought, the nicest food - There are activities scheduled throughout the week, live music in the Selene bar each night and the hotel can facilitate with booking tours or external activities. We would have liked to have seen a wider choice of activities (maybe more yoga classes) but we enjoyed the meditation - The room was amazing! Each room has a sea view and it really is spectacular to see the sun go down. I also wish I could hear the waves breaking against the beach at home - I miss it. The room was spotless, modern and had all the facilities you'd want including curtains that open and close at the touch of a button. - There's ample parking outside the hotel - It's only a 10 min walk to the marina and maybe 15 to the archeological park and castle. There are plenty of shops nearby but don't expect anything too charming, it's largely a strip of tourist shops - I could add so much more but would go on for too long The bad; - A loud alarm went off in our room approx 6 times throughout the week of our stay. Fortunately it didn't go off during the night but, when I reported it, I was told it was a false alarm and everything was ok. It would have been helpful to have it fixed as it went off in the days after that phone call. - The ability to support food intolerances in the restaurants could have been improved. There was no soy milk and, although I'd requested gluten free options in the restaurants, I was served two courses that contained gluten in Nocturne. I pointed this out to the staff, who were aware that I was gluten free, and they seemed to know that what I'd been served contained gluten. - The signature cocktails in the Selene bar were pretty pricey (15 euros each). That said, they were beautifully presented so it was probably my own stupid fault for continuing to order them to see what wonderful concoction turned up next
