Secret Oasis Villas - Anemona

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to this group of villas. This year we stayed in Violetta which is positioned lower down from Yiasmin so the views are not so good, neither is the WiFi connection. On a plus side it’s very private, no passing quad bikes, walkers or cars thinking they can get up to the dam. Other than that they are more or less identical albeit a mirror image of each other. We were disappointed that the only contact we had was with the pool man who visits 3 times a week, however he does arrive early so if your not early birds then your likely to miss him (until he wants paying for the AC). On previous years we did see the owner on numerous occasions , but not even any contact numbers were on display in Violetta, so if you had a problem you would have to ring TUI. The villa itself is tired and worn, there are lightbulbs out, one of which was in the BBQ area so we had to make sure cooking was completed before sunset, the other on the upper landing, plaster missing off the wall in the double bedroom, mis-matched faded crockery, curtain hooks missing making it impossible to open and close some of the curtains etc etc etc but this didn’t stop us from enjoying our holiday and I am only mentioning it in the hope that these reviews are read and the owners may invest a little money over the winter months to spruce them up and then they will get 5 stars from me. As a couple we find these good value for money, we cannot get a villa holiday for two people with flights, car and insurance for the same money with any other operator, even after paying under occupancy they still come out cheaper, so we have already booked for next year.

We chose this because of its secret oasis status, it was after all, our honeymoon. Our first impression was not good but that was down to TUI messing up our arrangements so I will keep the rest of the review to the villa, which was Secret Oasis Anemona. This is a two bedroom villa so it sleeps 4, as I said, it was our honeymoon so just the 2 of us. This meant a bathroom each. Which was good. However, on our first day we discovered a button which read "in case of no pressure please press the button". Effectively, during summer months they want toy to run the villa from solar power only. Which means toilets take forever to fill (I dont know why this is the case but trust me, pushing the button makes anworld of difference). Without this button being on the showers and taps produce a trickle of water. When we asked about what awithcws controlled what lights it was noted we had turned this button on and it was turned off immediately and I felt like a schoolboy being dressed down. As others have stated, there is nothing left in the villa, they will 'leave' you some provisions for €35 but frankly, there seems to be less that €20 worth and we would not use half of it (eg half a loaf of bread!). The water in the pool has been described elsewhere as cool. Arctic would be a better word. Even doing a couple of quick lengths doesn't get you acclimatised to just how cold it is. Then theres the air con.... Con being the operative word. We have paid over £2600 for 2 people for this holiday and if we want air con it's an EXTRA €7 a day per unit (one on each bedroom). Also, I'd they decide you have used too much electricity they charge you extra!! I've read elsewhere about noisy dogs and have to say I wake early so have heard them barking in the night but it hasn't disturbed me, but it could so easily disturb others. The car provided is a Kia Picanto which we immediately upgraded to Kia Stonic at s cost of an extra €666! So finally, my thoughts are, I've enjoyed the holiday but it is very expensive and I would not come again. A nice villa, lovely views but better value for money elsewhere.
