There are 4 things we associate with Italy – pizza, pasta, The Pope and George Clooney. He’s just celebrated his 1st wedding anniversary so will no doubt be whizzing around on a jet ski in Lake Como. Here’s how you can experience Italy like a Hollywood star…
1 x sharp grey suit
1 x slick shades
1 x floral sundress & large floppy hat (for Amal)
Aman Canal Grande Hotel, Venice
The super swanky Venetian hotel where George and Amal held their wedding reception boasts no less than 7 stars. If you’ve got a spare £3k, you can stay in the very same suite for one night only, otherwise a quick selfie outside will do. The hotel’s opulent exterior faces the Grand Canal, so if you take a gondola ride to the Rialto Bridge, you’ll get the perfect snap.
Restaurant Da Ivo, Venice
This cosy eatery serves traditional Northern Italian food and is said to be George’s fave. In fact, he took his stag party there where they devoured no less than five courses and two desserts each. They clocked up a massive 3k bill which was waived by the star-struck manager when George went to personally thank them.
Watersports, Lake Como
There’s nothing George loves more than whizzing around Lake Como on a jet ski, and you can do the same. Thanks to its calm, flat surface, Lake Como is perfect for watersports including wakeboarding, water-skiing and canoeing.
The Amalfi Coast
George and Amal are regularly seen zooming along Italy’s coastal roads on motorbikes in their leathers. And the most scenic spot for a Hollywood-style road trip is of course the Amalfi coast. Dotted with Medieval fishing villages and dramatic cliffside scenery, it’s the perfect place to take that Ferrari for a spin.
