From finding hidden gems in small fishing villages to whizzing around Rome on a Segway, here are some of the things you can get up to on a Thomson Cruise…
As tempting as it is to spend all your time on our amazing ships, we want to give you more activity options and ways to explore each destination. Whether you want see everything a city has to offer or do something completely different – there are excursions and itineraries to suit everyone. You’ll even get the chance to stay in your favourite port for longer with our cruise & stay packages, or see the cities by nightfall with our evening stays. See, we’ve thought of everything…
Been there, done that? You may have ticked off the main European cities and got all the t-shirts, but our itineraries take you to the lesser known hotspots, too. Take our Treasures of the Mediterranean trip. As well as visiting Palma, Sorrento and Rome, you’ll also get a taste of local culture in the charming town of Ajaccio in Corsica, and check out the underwater mussel farms and centuries-old churches in Menorca’s capital, Mahon.
It’s not just about the usual walking tours. If you’re already familiar with a city and want to see something different, we offer unique options for visiting the sites. You can explore Barcelona by bike – whizz down Las Ramblas and weave your way through Gaudi’s village. Rome and Athens can be seen by private minivan or Segway, and you can even kayak around Dubrovnik’s city walls. If you’d prefer to sightsee at a slower pace, take an atmospheric musical sailing trip to the Elaphite Islands in Croatia or join a volcano and wine tour in La Palma. Our evening stays also give you the chance to see all your famous landmarks lit up and soak up the cities’ nightlife.
We’re always discovering new and exciting places to take you to, so a cruise with Thomson is never the same. And some of our new stops for 2016 include the likes of Marseille in France, Vigo in Spain and Alcudia in Majorca. Don’t forget – we also travel to far off Caribbean Islands where you can holiday in paradise. Sip rum-infused cocktails on impossibly white beaches, experience diverse island cultures and swim in crystal clear waters. Bliss.
Cruising is as much about the ship as it is about the destinations, which is why we’re excited about the newest addition to our fleet, Thomson Discovery. Not only is it our biggest vessel yet, there’s a fantastic range of entertainment, activities and dining options to keep you busy. There’s a rock-climbing wall, an outdoor movie screen, a mini-golf course and no less than 7 dining places to choose from, including a la carte restaurants and a coffee shop.
