You might be looking forward to your holiday for this summer, but we’re already thinking ahead to 2016. Whether you fancy sipping Mojitos while admiring Cuba’s crumbling Colonial buildings, boarding our biggest cruise ship yet, or relaxing on an adults-only break, here’s a snapshot of what’s new for Thomson holidays in summer 2016…
From May 2016, Thomson Couples will become Thomson Sensimar. Why? Because our adults-only holidays aren’t just about couples – we want to create breaks for friends, siblings and relatives to enjoy, too. The 38 hotels in this range are geared up to help you relax, reconnect, and leave your everyday routine behind. They’re all in prime locations, with contemporary design, restaurants, top dining scenes and low-key entertainment. And the best bit? There are no children allowed. Find out more here..
Back by popular demand, Cuba has made it onto our hot list for summer 2016. We’ll be flying directly to Cuba’s biggest beach resort, Varadero, where you can enjoy swimming in warm turquoise waters and sipping Cuba Libres on pure-white beaches. We’ve designed a holiday package that will give you the perfect combination of beach time and sightseeing, too, so after topping up your tan in Varadero, you can enjoy a city stay in buzzing Havana to explore crumbling plazas, old-world Cuba and Revolution Square.
When you’re jetting off to a Carribean paradise, only the best accommodation will do. Memories Grand Varadero hotel is just the place for a luxurious and secluded escape, boasting an adults-only section and no less than 6 a la carte restaurants to keep your tastebuds happy. You can also upgrade to our Diamond Club package, which includes exclusive beach access with dedicated bar and waiter service, plus luxury amenities in your room and discounts on beauty treatments. Bliss.
Our stylish Sensatori resorts are all about fuelling the senses and we’ve just added another 2 to the collection. Opening in May 2016, Sensatori Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, will be set on the golden sands of Uvero Alto beach. There will be 8 restaurants serving international fare, plus a new restaurant by Le Chique for the ultimate gourmet dining experience. And, not to be outdone on the entertainment front, there will be a full programme of children’s activities on offer and the chance to try out watersports, including kayaking and paddle boarding. The resort will also feature its own open-air cinema for enjoying your favourite flicks al fresco with a cocktail in hand.
Rhodes is one of our most popular short-haul destinations and now there’s even more incentive to go. We’ve introduced a luxurious Sensatori hotel to Gennadi, where you can relax in style after exploring the crumbling ruins Rhodes is famous for. Set in manicured gardens, it features spacious family suites and swim-up rooms, plus world-class spa facilities and treatments to help you wind down. Our range of a la carte and buffet restaurants means you can enjoy fine dining every night, and then work off all that delicious food with a trip to the tennis courts or on-site waterpark the next day. All of this within stumbling distance of the beach, of course.
We know how important it is for you to travel from your local airport, so we’re giving you more flight options from airports across the UK. If you’re thinking of heading to Cancun, on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, or planning a fun-packed holiday in Florida, we’ll be operating new routes from Stansted airport. We’re also adding a weekly Manchester flight to Aruba, making it easier for you to get to the Caribbean island if you’re based up north.
Thomson Discovery is our newest addition to the fleet and will be sailing out of Palma for summer 2016. We’ve also added 8 exciting new ports of call to our itineraries including Vigo in Spain, Porto in Portugal, and Syros island in Greece. We want to increase your time ashore, so we’re introducing itineraries with no sea days and even offering evening stays in Ibiza and Barcelona. With our Cruise & Stay packages, you can add a city break in cosmopolitan cities such as Palma and Malaga onto your cruise.
And that’s not all…on selected sailings between May 2016 and October 2016, we’ll be offering complimentary drinks packages for those early bird bookers. Keep an eye on Thomson Cruises to find out more.
Those getting hitched in 2016 are in for a treat as we’re launching more overseas wedding destinations. We’ve searched far and wide to bring you romantic and picturesque locations for your big day and are proud to add Portugal, Venice/Lake Garda, Cuba and Costa Rica to the list. We’ve also expanded our same-sex marriage and blessings programmes with new destinations such as Majorca coming soon…
