From the beautiful temples, to the marina and the amazing shopping malls, there are so many reasons to add Singapore to your must-visit list. Here Singaporean fashion blogger Drea Chong from dreachong.com, takes us to the places she loves the most in the Lion City.
Singapore is a cosmopolitan city with world class public transportation. In fact, whenever our trains break down for merely 15 minutes, it’s headline news the next day.
We also have unparalleled security, so you can walk down any of our streets at 3am and still feel safe. More often than not, when I tell people I’m from Singapore, they reply by saying “Oh, you mean the country that bans chewing gum?”. I always correct them by pointing out that we ban the sale of chewing gum, but you can chew gum all you want here.
Singapore is also great for shopping. We are an excellent hub for international commercial brands and have a budding local designer scene. We are a tropical city, so Singaporeans dress for the weather. Our style is really casual, comfortable, while still on trend and modern.
This mall-laden street is one of the best places to shop in Singapore. My favourite shopping centres are Ion Orchard and 313 @ Somerset.
This shopping area in the Kampong Glam neighbourhood of Singapore is great for hip, vintage clothing to help you stand out from the crowd.
Singapore Botanic Gardens is a peaceful little haven, and a great place to escape the city and unwind. Why not try one of the many cafes and catch the orchestra who play here at the weekend?
Ce La Vi is located on the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands and is a good spot to grab a meal with friends while taking in spectacular views of Singapore’s pretty skyline.
Take a look at our Singapore city breaks.

Families will feel at home at the thanks to the big themed rooms with bunk beds and Xbox consoles.
The is perfect for shopaholics as there’s a brand new mall right alongside it.
The has been open since the 18th Century and is one of the city’s most famous landmarks. It’s also where the Singapore Sling cocktail was invented.
