We say Majorca, you say Mallorca – it’s a to-may-to or to-mah-to situation. Either way, thanks to its sandy beaches, this Balearic beauty’s a summer holiday staple. And, when it comes to great places to stay, it’s got the variety to prove it.

This laid-back spot on Majorca’s north-eastern coast boasts five kilometres of sandy beach, and it’s within daytripping distance of Palma, the island’s capital. What’s more, this place is cloaked by an easy-on-the-eye national park.
Stay at – Grupotel Los Principes & Spa
This hotel is set right next to Playa de Muro beach. It features a pair of restaurants and an impressive pool.
If you’re after a classy escape, Portals Nous is the destination for you. This place boasts a bright-white stretch of sand, edged with cocktail bars and tapas-serving spots. It’s got its own marina, too, where super-yachts dock – make the most of the views in the nearby rooftop bars.
Stay at – Ola Tomir
The marina and the beach are both within walking distance of this number. And, if you go for a room on the top floor, you’ll be treated to stellar sea views.
Although this destination rubs shoulders with party-ready Magaluf, it couldn’t be more different. This spot is made for families, nudging up to three white-sand beaches. You’ve got the likes of crazy golf and a waterpark to keep little ones busy too.
Stay at – Globales Santa Lucia
Every room comes with a sea view at this place – even the pool looks out over the sandy beach. You’ve also got a couple of bars to keep your drink topped up, and a buffet restaurant that’s famous for its fish dishes.
The clue’s in the name, really, but if you’re after a holiday that revolves around the beach, you’ll love Playa de Palma. Bordered by soft sand, and kitted out with loungers and watersports huts, this destination’s only 15 minutes away from the island’s capital by car.
Stay at – El Cid
El Cid makes sure that the best of Playa de Palma is at your fingertips – the hotel overlooks a Blue Flag beach. If that’s not enough, you’ve got a trio of pools to keep you cool, too.
You’ll find Pollensa nestled at Majorca’s northern tip, so it’s not surprise that stays here come with mountain and sea views. This destination’s Roman and Medieval attractions will keep history buffs happy, and Puerto Pollensa beach is ideal for sunbathers.
Stay at – Villa C’an Paparri
Up to six people can bed down in this farmhouse-style villa, but the pool’s big enough for plenty more. It’s edged by swaying palms and fruit trees.
Santa Ponsa’s been popular with Brits since the 1950s, and the secret to its success has to be its lively beach. This sandy swathe is massive, and it’s decked out with everything from loungers to volleyball nets. What’s more, it’s backed by cafes and bars which stay open ‘til the early hours.
Stay at – Casablanca Hotel
This hotel’s ideal if you’re looking to pick and choose when you want to get involved with Santa Ponsa’s lively vibe – it's just five minutes’ walk away from the action. It boasts some impressive sea views, too.
Majorca’s south-eastern coast plays host to this chilled-out spot. As well as seven sandy coves, this place lines up a selection of classy shops, and a super-yacht-accessorised marina. You’re within daytripping distance from Majorca’s capital, too.
Stay at – TUI BLUE Rocador
This beachfront, adults-only hotel comes with all the TUI BLUE extras, including an authentic feel, high-tech touches, and expert local BLUE Guides.
This east-coast gem keeps things relaxed – Cala Bona is still a fully functioning fishing town. Watch the catch of the day being brought in, and sample it later at traditional seafood restaurants. You can also take your pick of little sandy spots to relax on, or head down the coast to explore the famous Caves of Drach.
Stay at – Protur Bonamar Hotel
The Protur Bonamar Hotel is just for grown-ups, and a stay here offers up Instagram-worthy views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Sa Coma sits on Majorca’s east coast, and it’s a great spot for families. It’s got all the essentials, including a Blue Flag beach, kid-friendly menus, and activities geared towards families, including go-karting and mini-golf. There’s even a pint-sized train to take you along the coast to neighbouring resorts.
Stay at – Protur Safari Park
Every summer, this hotel opens up its very own waterpark. There are three themed restaurants, too, so fussy eaters are covered.
Ca’n Picafort’s palm-lined streets are perfect for strolling down, and in this resort everything’s within walking distance. The white-sand beach unravels for 13 kilometres, and comes complete with watersports and plenty of comfy loungers.
Stay at – Zafiro Mallorca
This hotel offers up a trio of pools, including a lagoon-like number, an adults-only swimming spot, and a pirate-themed kids’ splash park.
