Each Sensatori resort is a feast for the eyes. We’ve styled them up to the nines, making sure that everywhere – from the bedrooms to the bars – looks seriously chic. Sensatori Resort Tenerife is particularly glamorous – Fendi furniture and silver-leaf chandeliers – while, in others, we’ve teamed up with some of the world’s most fashionable faces to add a designer touch. Dressmaker to the stars, Jonathan Saunders, helped put the finishing touches on the poolside of Sensatori Resort Jamaica. The Butterfly Bar of Sensatori Resort Turkey was designed by royal milliner, Philip Treacy OBE. And, fashionista, Jade Jagger, put her stylish stamp on Sensatori Resort Ibiza's wellbeing space.
As the sun goes down, the noise level goes up. But in a good way – the Sensatori after-dark scene is second to none. We kick things off with Play House Live! shows, which are like bringing Saturday morning children’s TV to life. Later, West End-worthy performers take to the stage, in high-energy shows featuring different styles of music and dance. We fly in special guests, too, including the UK’s top tribute acts. On the other hand, you’ve always got the option to enjoy a more laid-back evening, chilling out in a cocktail bar to the sounds of our resident acoustic musicians.
When it comes to dining, Sensatori resorts major in flavour. Each property comes with a buffet restaurant that lays on an endless spread, as well as à la cartes ticking off everything from Mexican to Mediterranean. Some resorts take it up a notch, with fine dining venues and gourmet menus that’ll satisfy even the most discerning palate. Just take Sensatori Resort Mexico's Le Chique, for example. Here, you’re treated to a whopping 16-course feast of Heston Blumenthal-esque, experimental cuisine. The venue has a sister restaurant in Sensatori Resort Punta Cana, too.
We can’t think of much that’s more relaxing than a masseuse’s touch. Luckily, state-of-the-art spas are a Sensatori mainstay, where you can expect Zen-like treatment rooms, plus add-ons including marble-clad hammams, balmy indoor swimming pools, and candlelit Jacuzzis®. Run your eye down each spa’s treatment list, meanwhile, and you’ll spot signature massages and body wraps. Sensatori Resort Jamaica, for instance, makes the most of the island’s famous Blue Mountain coffee, by using it in a skin-soothing body wrap. And, at Sensatori Resort Crete, the masseurs swap fingertips for satin-smooth sea shells, in a Sri Lankan-influenced rub-down that’s fragranced with cinnamon oil.
Sensatori resorts are scouted for their picture-perfect settings, and you don’t even have to look past your nose to get the big picture. Most of them are pulled up alongside the beach – you just have to follow the salty scent of the sea through the grounds to reach the sand. Sensatori Resort Aphrodite Hills, on the other hand, is blanketed in the aroma of pines, thanks to its roost above a valley of tree-lined peaks. The views from up here are sublime, taking in the jade-coloured countryside, and the Mediterranean Sea in the panorama. And if that doesn’t tickle the olfactory nerve enough, we also pump aromatherapy scents through the interiors for good measure.
If the five senses are the yin, satori is the yang. The term comes from the Buddhist concept of enlightenment and awakening. And what better time to find your inner Zen than on holiday? True satori moments come from pushing your bedroom door open for the very first time and uncovering your luxurious bolthole, to slipping off your shoes and feeling the silky sand in between your toes as you wander along the shorefront. Bliss.
