Turkey’s mega-resorts are made for family holidays. Our TUI BLUE Side Family Resort is part of the TUI BLUE For Families collection, so it’s all set up for little ones. Think kids’ clubs for all ages and activity pools packed with waterslides. There’s even a cooking class on offer with TUI BLUE For Families mascot, Captain T. Plus, there’s loads to do outside the resort. Wander into Side and kids can look for the biggest boats in the yacht-filled marina. Or, book a hotel in Belek for easy access to the Land of Legends theme park – you can even stay there. And, if you’re travelling with teens, Turkey’s packed with historic sights. You’ll find Roman baths and the Temple of Apollo in this region. Plus, look out for Ottoman architecture and local eats – pay a visit to Antalya Town for the best of these.

If you’re looking for a resort made for spending quality time with your other half, head to Icmeler. The coast here is part of a long sweep of impressive beaches, and Icmeler’s got its own Blue Flag stretch. It’s also backed by pine trees, offering up beautiful vistas in every direction. On low-key days you can explore the local area – there’s a traditional old village just a 15-minute walk from the centre of the resort – and hike through the surrounding hills. And, when you fancy dialling up the excitement, Marmaris is just a 10-minute taxi ride away. There’s always loads on, with a buzzing nightlife scene, and a traditional Turkish spa.

Turkey definitely won the beach lottery – there’s a long list of sandy swathes that deserve a spot on your must-visit list. But, if you’re searching for the best of the bunch, the Turquoise Coast – also known as the Turkish Riviera – definitely pips the other regions to the post. Stay at a hotel in Fethiye and you’re not far from Turkey’s most-famous beach, Ölüdeniz, or the Blue Lagoon. This idyllic stretch of coast is just 20 minutes’ drive from the resort. And, if the name isn’t familiar, you’ll probably recognise its turquoise waters and iconic horse-shoe shape from the covers of travel magazines. If you want to venture a bit further, you can hop on a boat to a quiet beach in the nearby Butterfly Valley. This off-the-beaten-track location is a protected nature reserve, so it’s got a really peaceful vibe. You can easily while away an afternoon on the sand spotting the huge variety of butterflies that live here.

If you’re planning a break with friends, Marmaris ticks all the boxes. Most of the action takes place by the marina, and the resort’s got a strip packed with everything from karaoke bars to night clubs. There’s even an open-air spot, making the most of Turkey’s warm temperatures. There’s loads to keep you busy during the day, too, from the café-lined promenade to the beach. This sandy spot’s got plenty of sunloungers to recover on. And, if you fancy ticking off two countries on one holiday, you can get to Rhodes Town in Greece in less than an hour by boat.
