Summer’s over, the kids are back at school, and it’s time to start planning your next holiday. October half term is the last chance to catch some rays before we officially swap sun for Santa. Here’s our pick of short-haul holidays to get rid of those summer blues…
Cyprus in October offers 28 degrees of sunshine, sandy beaches and loads of history to explore. For the more adventurous, it’s cool enough for a spot of sight-seeing or to take a hike up Troodos Mountains. You can stay at Loutsiana Apartments and laze about by the outdoor pool, and visit Europe’s biggest waterpark which is right next door.
While the little ones are playing on one of Majorca’s hundreds of beaches, you can take a well-earned break at a local winery or explore the historical old town. With almost year-round sunshine, Tenerife is the place to get your vitamin D fix. Even in October, temperatures can reach 27 degrees and you’ll have skipped the busy tourist season.
