Skiing holidays aren’t just about skiing (funnily enough) – the resorts also happen to be some of the best party spots in the world. If you’ve got all the gear and no idea, here’s our rundown of the best places to ski and party in equal measure…

    Verbier, Switzerland

    Made In Chelsea vibes…

If swanky bars and sophisticated soirees are more your scene, Verbier is where you’ll enjoy après ski of the upmarket variety. You’ll find slope-side supper clubs, Champagne bars overlooking snowy mountains and even diamond-decorated cocktails at Coco’s. Keep it chic and cheerful on nights out by following happy hour around the town.

    St Anton, Austria

    Ibiza on ice…

Partying is serious business in St Anton. It’s all about table-top dancing in your ski boots, all-night raves and breakfast on the mountain when you inevitably haven’t made it back to your hotel. Legendary bars Mooserwirt and Krazy Kanguruh are where you can tackle towering steins of beer and dance to thumping Europop classics with hundreds of fellow revellers.

    Avoriaz Ski Resort, France

    Winter festival fun…

Festivals aren’t just for summer, you know. Dust off those glow sticks and book your tickets to Snowboxx, where you can combine your love of skiing and music. In 2016, Snowboxx is going bigger and better with secret mountain shindigs, tropical pool parties and an entire festival village planned. Book your tickets sharpish for this March or keep it on your radar for 2017.

    Livigno, Italy

    Duty free drinking…

Livigno is a tax-free haven for guilt-free shopping and partying. Not only can you take advantage of the cheap cocktails on offer, you can also treat yourself to bargain cosmetics, clothes and electronics. The resort boasts over 150 bars, which is more than any other ski resort in the world. Try Gulliver Pub for a huge selection of beers and spirits or Jpioca for some fancy Italian wine.

    Whistler, Canada

    One for the bucket list…

Serious skiiers count Whistler as a bucket list destination, and it happens to be a cool party spot, too. There’s everything from classic boozers to posh eateries. Merlin’s is famous for table dancing and nacho mountains, Buffalo Bills hosts themed parties every night, and Cinnamon Bear Bar & Grille is a chic and quiet option. Caesar is your go-to drink here – a unique concoction of vodka, hot sauce and clamato juice (yes, that’s clam and tomato). Enjoy.

    Val d’Isere, France

    Fit for a King…

This posh party hotspot is frequented by the likes of Princes William and Harry, so if you want to rub shoulders with royalty, this is the place to be. Trendy and cosmopolitan, it combines stylish Champagne bars with casual watering holes, so you get a bit of everything. La Folie Douce is the premier on-mountain party spot, while Dick’s Tea Bar is the iconic celeb hangout.

    Borovets, Bulgaria

    Ski and après ski beginners…

This under-the-radar resort is the perfect introduction to the world of skiing. Not only are the slopes ideal for beginners, there are plenty of budget-friendly après ski options that won’t break the bank. Most of the bars are located right on the slopes for extra convenience and you can choose from British-style pubs or traditional Bulgarian bars.
