Already counting down the days to the summer holidays? Check out these last-minute breaks to 5 of our fave adults-only hotels…

Christmas is long gone. And the summer holidays are still an eye-watering 27 weeks away. What better excuse to pack your bags for a week of half term winter sun? We’ve rounded up 5 hotels that’ll give you some much need R&R. And, best of all, they’re completely kid-free.

Sensimar Medina Gardens – Marrakech, Morocco

With wrap-around gardens filled with palm and orange trees, it’s easy to forget just how central this place is. Just a 10-minute walk gets you to the centre of the famous Jemaa el-Fna. As the city’s main square, it’s chock-a-block with snake charmers, fortune-tellers, musicians and more. Back at the hotel, daybeds are dotted all around the pool and gardens, providing plenty of spots to catch some rays or to curl up with a book.

Sensimar Arona Gran & Spa – Los Cristianos, Tenerife

If all you want to do is snooze on a lounger to the sounds of the lapping waves, this place is just the ticket. Its 2 lagoon-like pools are footsteps from the ocean. And there are waiter-call buttons so you won’t even have to get up for that next mojito. If you do decide to stretch your legs, there’s no planning or Google Maps required. A promenade leads you straight into town, around a 15-minute stroll away.

Hotel Suite Princess – Playa Taurito, Gran Canaria

This hotel’s mountain-beach location means pretty sunbathing backdrops are easy to come by. And because it’s part of our Platinum Lifestyle range, it looks just as good on the inside as well. Our favourite spot is the balcony terrace. With snuggly white sofas, it’s the best seat in the house for watching the sunset. There’s a good line-up of evening entertainment, too, with musicians and singers on the bill.

Hotel H10 Timanfaya Palace – Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

Timanfaya Palace really lives up to its name. It’s not just stunning good looks, 2 pools, and a beachfront location that earn it this title, though. Review after review, the hotel staff are praised for making guests feel like royalty. It’s also a great choice if keeping active is how you unwind. Yoga, pilates and tai chi are all on the agenda, as well as loads of sports, and paella-making sessions.

Sensimar Riviera – Benalmadena, Costa del Sol

This stylish hotel puts you right in the centre of Benalmadena’s best bits. It’s on the edge of a sandy beach that stretches for miles. And a harbour with shops, bars and restaurants is just 10 minutes’ walk away, too. For when you’re staying put, there are indoor and outdoor pools that both come with views of the ocean. You can also treat yourself to a massage or have a soak in the hot tub at the new spa centre.
