If you’re desperate for a dose of winter sun now that autumn’s here, take a look at these 5 holiday destinations where you can still wear your swimmers without risking frost bite…
The coastal resort of Agadir basks in highs of 25 degrees during October, so it’s a great choice if you’re looking for some winter sun. It also has Morocco’s best beach to shout about – a 9-kilometre stretch of sand that’s on the doorstep of the town itself, so you can switch between them really easily.
If you want to holiday in Europe, the Turkish region of Antalya is a good bet. Although the temperature is starting to cool off in October, you’ll still get an average daily reading of 20 degrees and upwards. Plus, the water in the Mediterranean Sea hovers around the 24-degree mark, so it’s lovely and warm for swimming.
For the kind of tan that’ll rival TOWIE’s finest, head to the Cape Verde islands. From October until June you can pretty much bank on temperatures in the region of 26 degrees, and rain isn’t really a word that’s in the dictionary here. Take your pick from lively Sal and quieter Boa Vista. Either way, make sure you pack some suncream.
You’d expect Mexico to come up trumps with the weather, and it doesn’t disappoint. Book a hotel in a resort like Puerto Vallarta and you’re looking at temperatures close to 28 degrees in October, and potentially nudging the early-30s. The average rainfall is much lower now than in the summer months, too, so it’s win-win all round.
This Caribbean island’s average temperature doesn’t change much throughout the year – you’re looking at something close to 28 degrees in Aruba, whenever you come. That means you can bask in the sunshine on beaches like Palm Beach and Druif Beach to your heart’s content. Just save some time for a trip to Oranjestad – the island’s capital is as colourful as the name suggests.
