Holidays Where Kids Are Treated Like VIPs
Children’s spa treatments, Junior MasterChef cooking classes and whole rooms dedicated to Lego – these hotels take the idea of a family-friendly holiday and crank it up to the max.
Luxury hotel brand Karisma doesn’t just lay on a few kids’ meals and activities at its All Inclusive retreats on Mexico’s Caribbean Coast. They’ve tailored every last detail to make their holidays the kind that youngsters will never forget. Here’s how…
Mini Sun Loungers
Designer loungers and four-poster day beds border the pools at Karisma hotels. But poolside comfort extends to the youngsters too, with their very own mini sunloungers and parasols.
Little people need a lot of stuff. But don’t waste packing space lugging all their essentials across country borders. Everything from bottle warmers to mini bathrobes can be ready and waiting in your room when you arrive. Not to mention sterilisers, baby monitors, changing tables, cots, bathtubs and toys, too. Best of all? There’s no charge for any of it.
Scrambling in the sand, devouring ice creams, dragging dad on the waterslides – it’s tiring stuff, being a kid on holiday. Luckily the pampering in Karisma’s luxury hotel spas extends to pre-teens, with special treatment menus of strawberry facials and green apple massages for kids as young as five.
Gourmet à la carte dining comes as standard at Karisma hotels. But for younger palates, there are also kid-friendly menus starring chicken nuggets or pasta, plus fruit, vegetables and ice cream. Organic baby food is available for tots.
Not content with a stack of board games and DVDs, the kids’ clubs at Karisma hotels are usually huge multi-room spaces decked out with the latest top-branded toys. They also feature the likes of mini cinemas, Lego zones and napping suites.
Sushi rolling and cookie making are on the bill for youngsters who sign up for the Little Eko Chefs activities in the Generations Riviera Maya kids’ club kitchen. The first ever MasterChef Junior USA winner devised the exclusive programme, which also includes trips to the hotel’s greenhouse to pick ingredients.
Karisma teams up with toy giant Fisher Price to deck out its kids’ clubs and family rooms, so playtime always stars the latest toys and games.
Kids’ Check-in Desk
Little people can clamber up a special set of steps to see over the front desk at Sensatori Resort Mexico. The surface is stacked with toys to keep them busy during check-in. And while the adults are handed flutes of fizz to toast their arrival, youngsters get their own smoothies and juices.
Family Swim-up Suites
Swim-up suites let you throw open your patio doors and leap straight into the pool. Better still, you can put the youngest of your brood down for a nap in the bedroom, grab one of the hotel’s baby monitors and settle onto your private terrace to watch the older lot splash around just feet away from your suite.
