Hats Off To Philip Treacy

“It’s time to unveil the sunhats designed exclusively for us by world-famous hat designer”

Philip Treacy… and what’s more…

  • Hats Off To Philip Treacy

It’s time to unveil the sunhats designed exclusively for us by world-famous hat designer, Philip Treacy… and what’s more, how about winning one of 5 hats we’re giving away?

Ever since we revealed our exclusive collaboration with hat-maker-to-the-stars, Philip Treacy, we’ve literally been sitting on our hands to stop ourselves letting the, er, hat out of the bag when it comes to the design of the limited edition sunhats. We can now totally sympathise with those Apple guys when there’s a new iPhone in the offing. Keeping secrets is tough, especially when they’re so blinking exciting.

The partnership came about to mark the launch of our new 5-star Sensatori Resort Turkey in a place called Side, and although we’ve been able to show you exclusive pics of the brand-new hotel, until now we’ve only been able to release a tantalising sketch of the hats. But you know what they say – good things come to those who wait.

So, here we go. Drumroll, please. We’re proud as punch to present the women’s sunhats…

Kind of a big deal, right? We’re in love. And we would pick a favourite out of the 6 knock-out shades available, we really would… but that would be like choosing our favourite Häagan-Dazs flavour. It’s just too difficult.

And, as you’ll recall from our initial announcement, it’s not just women’s sunhats Philip has designed for us. Oh, no. He’s only gone and designed his first ever range of children’s hats (available in 3 stylish shades). In other words, a slice of fashion history. We reckon a certain Prada-wearing editor-in-chief will be seriously impressed. After all, we’re already part of the fash-pack, having graced the pages of Vogue.com. No biggie.

So, how do you get your hands on one, we hear you cry. Well, the incredibly lucky women and children staying at the Sensatori Resort Turkey from 1st June onwards will find a hat placed in their rooms on arrival (while stocks last). To be honest, towel art is all well and pretty, but, given the choice, we know which surprise we’d prefer to find on our beds. However, if you’re not booked into our Turkey-based Sensatori over the next few weeks and you desperately need one of these limited edition hats in your life, fear not… sunhats will be available to buy at the following Thomson superstores across the UK from 1st June, with all proceeds donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity:

    Birmingham Bull Ring
    Bluewater
    Bluewater Park
    Braehead (Glasgow)
Dudley Sheffield Gateshead The Mall (Bristol)
    Gateshead Metro Centre
    Glasgow Silverburn
    Milton Keynes
    The Trafford Centre (Manchester)
    Thurrock
    Welwyn Garden City (Herts)
    White Rose (Leeds)

The hats are priced at a very reasonable £150 for a women’s sunhat and £75 for a child’s hat. And it’s an extremely worthy cause, as we’re sure you’ll agree.

Or. Yes, there’s an ‘or’. How do you fancy winning one of the 5 super-stylish sunhats that we’re giving away? If the answer’s what we think it is, here’s the all-important question: in which Turkish resort is the Sensatori Resort Turkey located? (Hint: have another glance over this post, if in doubt). Please send your answers to the following email address by midday on Friday 14th June: philiptreacy@thomson.co.uk. You’ve got to be in it to win it, and all that jazz…

    Good luck, everyone!

Hungry for more? Here’s the man himself, Philip Treacy, talking about the partnership…

As Philip mentions in the video, he also turned his talented hand to designing the bar at the Sensatori Resort Turkey. The ‘Butterfly Bar’ takes inspiration from one of his most fabulous creations – the butterfly hat he designed for Naomi Campbell. We can’t think of a more glamorous setting for a cocktail…

We’d love to hear what you think of our range of sunhats…
