New UK Airport Security Checks For Electronic Devices
You may have seen in the news that new UK airport security checks have been put in place for electronic devices. Here’s what you need to know ahead of your next holiday…
Passengers coming in and out of UK airports are being advised to charge all electronic devices with a chargeable battery that they are carrying in their hand luggage before they travel. They’ll need to be able to show that any device that can hold a charge – like mobile phones, laptops and cameras – can be powered up. So if you’re booked to travel on a Thomson holiday, you’ll need to bear this in mind before your trip.
The new measures apply to all flights, not just those in and out of the US. It’s also worth leaving mobile devices on right up until you board the plane, to speed things up in case there are extra checks at the gate. Other security measures, like the 100ml limit on liquids in hand luggage, still stand.
If you’re due to fly with Thomson Airways, look out for updates with the latest info. Keep an eye on your inbox and MyThomson for more details. And, as always, make sure you allow plenty of time for check-in.
