The TUI SENSIMAR bill is pretty hard to beat. It pairs top-quality hotels with excellent locations, also adding in relaxing, child-free surroundings into the mix for good measure. Every hotel is four or five star, so you’ll always be voting for luxury.
Then, there’s TUI SENSATORI. These hotels are based in some of the most sought-after destinations around the world, and each one has its own unique flavour. The handpicked collection brings gourmet dining, luxurious spa treatments and first-class pool scenes to engage the senses, and free you to enjoy the moment. So, which wins your vote? We’ll leave that one up to you…
Our sister company, First Choice, put some long-haul destinations to the popularity vote. Here’s a look at the results…
It’s no surprise that Mexico has bagged first place in your top three favourite destinations. It's the place to go for tacos, tequila and top-of-the-range beaches. Plus, with ancient sights like the Mayan Ruins and Tulum Jungle Maya to explore, it’s much more than a fly and flop holiday. If you really fancy getting away from the beaten track, why not visit Contoy Island for a day? This protected area is an important nesting place for more than 150 sea birds, so only a small number of visitors are allowed each day meaning it’s never overcrowded. Plus, while you’re there, you’ll get to snorkel around stunning coral reefs and tuck into a barbecued lunch of grilled chicken and freshly-netted fish on the white sands. Yummy.
Fancy jammin’ in Jamaica? The good news is, you can. Coming in at second place in our holiday vote, we promise this Caribbean gem will impress you – we’re talking some of the best jerk chicken on earth, dream-like beaches and that much-needed chilled-out atmosphere. What more could you want in a vacay? And, if you’re a keen celeb spotter, make way for Montego Bay – or Mo’ Bay – where you might be lucky enough to spot A-Listers like Jay-Z and Beyoncé – no big deal. While you’re in the second city, make sure you check out the colourful market stalls where you can purchase everything from coconut-palm baskets, Rasta-coloured clothing, and woven hats.
Cuba’s got more than just cigars and Cadillacs up its sleeve – it’s also your third favourite holiday destination. Taking the crown is its brightly-coloured capital city, Havana, where you’ll get to spend the day soaking up amazing architecture and watching the friendly locals go about their day. The UNESCO-protected old quarter is bursting with cobbled streets and baroque-style churches that’ll give your Instagram followers serious holiday FOMO. And when it’s time to retreat somewhere a bit quieter, we think you should add Cayo Santa Maria to your itinerary. This sleepy seaside resort has got a real secret island feel, thanks to its hundreds of flawless-looking keys and islets. You can easily get there from mainland Cuba by crossing the man-made causeway link, FYI. The bright-blue sea is the star of the show, here. Snorkelling easily rivals Australia’s Great Barrier Reef thanks to diving trips where you’ll get to swim among sea turtles and angelfish, to name a few.
Thailand and beaches go together like sweet and salty popcorn thanks to their other-worldly settings. Take the Phi Phi Islands anchored just off the coast of Krabi, for example, where you can play islander on the same belt of sand Leonardo Dicaprio did in Hollywood blockbuster The Beach. While you’re there, you can explore sandy coves and hike through the jungle. Thailand is much more than sand and sea, though. You can head north to bustling Bangkok for temple hopping and rooftop bars. Or, if nature is your thing, travel south to Khao Lak where the wealth of gigantic national parks will leave you spoiled for choice. These parks are home to animals like elephants and macaque monkeys, so it’s the ideal trip for wildlife-obsessed little ones. Thailand knows a thing or two about cooking, too. You can sign up for cooking classes where you’ll get to whip up national dishes, like zesty pad thai and chicken and cashew nut curry. We promise they’ll both leave you wanting to come back for another taste...
Sri Lanka really has got it all. Holidays here mean you’ll get to explore amazing jungles, unwind on unspoiled beaches, and spot huge herds of Asian elephants in their natural habitat. In fact, if you visit the teardrop of India between the months of July and October, you’ll get the chance to spy on more than 300 of the giants strolling through Minneriya National Park, where they come to feed at the enormous man-made reservoir. This huge UNESCO-protected nature reserve is one of the best places in the country to get back to nature. Day trips here swap relaxing by the pool for exploring the bright-green landscapes by a 4x4. While you’re there, keep your eyes peeled for spotted deer, purple-faced langur monkeys and macaques – they all call this place home. And if you’re a bit of an adrenaline junkie, you should definitely add Sigiriya Rock to your list, too. This 600-foot tall summit is one of Sri Lanka’s most visited attractions for good reason. If you decide to trek up the almost-vertical staircase (we promise it’s worth it), you’ll get to take in spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding grasslands when you reach the top.
Did you know Phu Quoc is Vietnam’s best kept secret? This untouched island is nestled in the south of the country, away from the hustle and bustle of cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, so it’s ideal if you’re looking for some solitude over summer. Just because it’s peaceful doesn’t mean it shouldn’t get your vote, though. Away from the gorgeous coastline there's Phu Quoc National Park which covers almost half of the island, so there’s plenty of sightseeing and exploring to be done when you’re not busy sunning yourself by the beach. Spend a day travelling around the mangrove forests by foot or scooter, then cool off by jumping feet-first into picture-perfect waterfalls. Nature lover? No problem. You’ll get to spy on the resident long-tailed macaques and gibbons as you go. Away from Phu Quoc National Park, the island also has pepper plantations, a pearl farm, and a 12-mile-long beach to shout about. We recommend those all-important beach strolls after dark, as – FYI – this is when the bioluminescent plankton light up the waters, turning it into a dazzling bright-blue show. You can thank us later.
Staying at TUI SENSATORI Resort Riviera Cancun means you’re only footsteps away from white sandy beaches. You’ll also get the chance to dine in Le Chique restaurant, which offers Heston Blumenthal-esque experimental cuisine.
TUI SENSIMAR Khao Lak Resort And Spa is an adults-only retreat set on Khao Lak’s beach, and is perfect for partners wanting a getaway – with king-size beds, matching fluffy bathrobes and Thai massages for two.
TUI SENSATORI Resort Negril is positioned right on Negril's famous Seven Mile Beach and has its own reggae lounge.
