Our itineraries tick off everything from North Africa’s spice-laden souks and Asia’s tropical rainforests to Europe’s sun-soaked islands and culture-crammed cities. Now, we’re excited to announce a new addition to the list – cruises to the USA. From summer 2021, Marella Discovery will be sailing from Port Canaveral in Florida on four brand-new itineraries, with 11 new ports of call. And, as you’ll stay on the ship overnight in New York, Tampa and New Orleans, you’ll be able to explore these destinations by day and night. Sound good? Sunshine and Jazz
This 12-night repositional itinerary sets sail from Montego Bay in Jamaica in April 2021. The best bit about it? Spending three nights in New Orleans during the New Orleans Jazz Festival. When you’re not enjoying this celebration of the city’s musical roots, you can visit the famous French Quarter, tuck in to fresh crawfish or tour everything from the shopping malls to the bayous. Other stops on this cruise include Tampa, Key West, Miami and Port Canaveral in Florida, plus Georgetown in Grand Cayman.
Big Apple Adventure
As the name suggests, this itinerary ticks off the Big Apple itself, New York City. Here, you can climb to the top of the Empire State Building, catch a show on Broadway, and shop ‘til you drop on Fifth Avenue – it’s all possible in the city that never sleeps. Then, you’ll drop anchor in Norfolk, Virginia, which played a part in the American Revolution. Sunnier climes are on the horizon next with a stop at Freeport in the Bahamas, before finishing things up in Port Canaveral.
American Dream
Fancy a taste of that famous Southern charm? Our American Dream itinerary makes a stop in Charleston, South Carolina. Grab a sweet tea and start exploring – history buffs in particular have loads to keep them amused. Pay a visit to Fort Sumter, the site of two battles during the American Civil War, or the Old Slave Mart Museum, which was built inside an original slave-auction house. The other stops on this sailing include New York City and Freeport, in the Bahamas.
Floridian Favourites
Florida might conjure up images of Walt Disney World Resort and the Everglades, but the Sunshine State has loads more to offer. Your first stop will be in Tampa, where you’ll spot Cuban and Spanish influences on every corner. Your visit to this port includes an overnight stay, so you can get out and explore nightlife hotspot Ybor City. Then there’s Fort Lauderdale, famous for its beach scene. You’ll also call at Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. Alongside time-stamped colonial buildings, there are loads of brightly-coloured coral reefs for diving enthusiasts to explore under the waves.
Sunshine States and Sands
This itinerary lines up a handful of big-name destinations. There’s Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic, which shows off the Caribbean’s postcard-perfect good looks. Next up is Grand Turk in Turks and Caicos, where white-sand beaches, blue skies and turquoise waters come as standard. After soaking up the sun in paradise, it’s off to Florida to finish off your cruise with stops in Key West and Miami.
