    Great hotel, beautiful clean grounds, amazingly helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are large (balconies too) clean and well cooled with lots of hanging space. Housekeeping was meticulous. Nightly entertainment, fun daily activities and A nightclub onsite (pacha - didn’t attend). Food is good & fresh. The Italian restaurant was great. I ordered the salmon with the balsamic glaze and it was fresh and full of flavour! Like most all inclusive‘s the staff at this resort were beyond friendly, helpful and worked their butts off to keep everyone happy. Literally Only downside for me, there was no designated adults area or if there was it wasn’t enforced. If you are travelling without kids I would re think this hotel as there are little kids everywhere. By the end of my week I got really sick of hearing other people’s kids squealing, carrying on and ruining dinners, pool time etc. speaking of pools There are 2; 1 kids pool and the 2nd big one with the swim up bar. It was really annoying being in the big pool and not being able to access the swim up bar because other people’s kids were hogging the seats or blocking/playing in the bar area. It was also very annoying trying to enjoy time in the pool and having some persons kid jump, kick and splash water in my face and drink. There was even one instance where two fighting/playing kids picked up an ash tray and threw the cigarette butts in the pool... This was the only thing I found irritating for my vacation because the kids pool always seemed empty. I know the kids are there because of their parents choosing that pool but I think this hotel needs to decide if it’s a family resort or a party resort. There were a lot of drunk (child free) adults and A lot of the daily pool activities & games, music etc seemed to be targeted at a 16+ audience, so it was a little weird having small kids constantly getting in the way and being around for adult games and things like the foam pool party. I think next vacation I’m going adults-only and if RIU had one that would be perfect! However regardless of the kid issue I would recommend and stay with RIU again.

    The hotel itself was comfortable. Buffet had a good selection for all meals. We did attend the “Steakhouse” ala Carte for the 8 pm seating and service was horrendous!! 45 minute wait for order to be taken, another 45 minutes for meal to be served. Steaks were not cooked to medium well as ordered. Medium rare at best and cold!! We left very annoyed and to the buffet for supper. The pools were nice however found the pools a little more family friendly at the sister resort Riu VALLARTA. The poolside drink service there was great! The night shows were reasonably good. Please ask for an outside room if you prefer a quieter evening. My daughter had a family room with 3 beds which worked very well with her children. All in all a pleasant stay.

    The service was great, lots of variety for food, beach was close. The vendors close to the property were not pushy and trying to sell everything. Was a nice relaxing stay. The location was perfect, close to lots of markets and felt safe any time of day or night.

    We just got back from one week last minute all inclusive vacay at the Riu Jalisco, We had a great time! The rooms were clean, beds and pillows comfortable. The beach was beautiful; went on for miles and there was no shortage of sun loungers, The pool loungers filled up much quicker. The entertainment at the resort was not stop, the employees of the hotel work very long hours entertaining all the guests and are as friendly and pleasant as can be. We did give gratuities ($) at our own discretion, we did not feel the pressure to do so as we have felt in other resorts. Atmosphere was very relaxed. We thought the food was decent a good variety for all. This resort was very welcoming and everyone was so friendly, Thank you! We will probably re-visit in a couple of years.

    Flew Sunwing, arrived 3 hours late, arrived at approx. 330 a.m. Feb 1-8. Sunwing offered nothing to us, glad we saw the 3 hour delay before leaving home. They didnt have a pilot and said that is not something the compensate for, which is a staffing issue on their end, so that's non-sense. Hotel check in was busy, luckily we beat the rush as two buses arrived around the same time. Nice touch, they left a fruit plate and sandwiches. Except in one room the fruit flies were insane that first night, we had to put the food in the fridge. We had rooms on the 2nd floor, which suited us fine. We had 2 rooms (4 adults), we booked the Family Room, which was suppose to consist of 2 separate rooms, with either 2 doubles or a king. We had one room, 2 doubles perfect, the other had a king and a bunkbed pretty much at the door, which was not needed or wanted. It blocked the flow, but it was ok. Room was clean enough, some things needed attention, a few lose towel holders, but nothing major. Food was good, Mexican was the fave, Asian was the least fave. No need to book ALACARTES, which was nice. Drinks were good, ask for brand name for better choices. Pools were fun, wildlife was iguanas who would swim across pool by the kids slide- neat. Plus many black cats. Beach was fine, it's the pacific so the water is just ok. Sunset was incredible. Nightlife was ok, not really our things. The grounds were well kept, but there is not a lot of walking space for the nights. But day time, the beach is incredible to walk on and I highly recommend! Saw a few cockroaches, once in the lobby and once in an outdoor bar. I would go back for the right price. It was good, not great, but we got a last minute deal, and a good price. Sunshine and long beach walks, was what we were looking for. Staff
