Mansions, beaches, private islands – you can see how the other half live on this tour. First up, you’ll make your way to Miami, where you’ll step onboard the Island Queen boat for a 90-minute cruise. After all, Miami’s a waterfront city, so there’s no better way to explore. Make sure to have your camera at the ready, as you’ll cruise past private neighbourhoods, like Palm Island, Hibiscus Island and Star Island. Celebs like P. Diddy, Shaquille O’Neal and Gloria Estefan have all owned property in these exclusive spots, hence the nickname, Millionaire’s Row. Back on dry land, you’ll get some free time to explore the Bayside Marketplace. This open-air shopping centre’s a great place to pick up some lunch. After, you’ll make your way back to Fort Lauderdale on the coach, passing through the Art Deco District and South Beach along the way.
This tour gives you a fast-paced introduction to Florida’s world-famous eco-system, the Everglades. You’ll skim over the surface of the park’s shallow waters on an airboat. Your guide will tell you all about the wildlife in these parts, as you keep an eye out for birds, fish and reptiles. This is the only place on the planet where both alligators and crocs live side-by-side in the wild. After your 30 to 40-minute airboat ride, you’ll have some time to explore the park for yourself. Then the coach will take you back to the ship.
This tour does exactly what it says on the tin, giving you a snapshot of the so-called Magic City. Florida’s buzzing metropolis is just a short hop from Fort Lauderdale. You’ll start with a scenic drive through some of the city’s most popular neighbourhoods. South Beach is up first. Here, white-sand beaches and colour-popping Art Deco architecture sets the scene. You’ll pass the Versace Mansion – the former home of late fashion designer Gianni Versace, now a seriously swanky hotel. Then it’s on to Star Island, which has been home to celebs like P. Diddy and Shaquille O’Neal. Back on the mainland, you’ll head past Miami’s Cuban quarter, Little Havana, and upscale Coconut Grove. Next, you can admire the grand Mediterranean-style architecture in Coral Gables. This place is famous for the extravagant Venetian Pool and the Biltmore Hotel, where you’ll stop for a quick photo. You’ll finish things off with free time at the Bayside Marketplace.
