Marella Discovery’s main eatery is a big, stylish venue, finished in the colours of the sand and the sea. Daytime meals here come with a side-order of sea views, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, and a grand double staircase leads up to a separate eatery. It also hosts The Great Musical Afternoon Tea. This weekly event brings the West End to Marella Cruises, with dishes inspired by famous musicals – like the ‘Vietnamese Melody’ beef tenderloin yakitori and the ‘On My Own’ petit choux. Transfer with park entrance to Walt Disney World Resort
This day out gives you a taste of one of Orlando’s most famous theme parks. It takes just over an hour to drive from Tampa to Walt Disney World Resort, where you’ll have your pick of the rollercoaster-filled parks. Choose one from Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This excursion includes entry to whichever one you opt for, and you’ll have six hours to roam the park before the coach picks you up for the drive back to Tampa. It’s a good idea to wear comfy shoes, as you’ll do lots of walking between rides.

Clearwater Beach Break
This half-day trip takes you to one of America’s – and the world’s – best beaches. Clearwater regularly ranks among the global elite, and its famous shoreline is 45 minutes’ drive from Tampa. When you arrive, you’ll have free time to stroll along picturesque Pier 60, or browse the surf and souvenir shops of Mandalay Avenue. The most popular pastime, unsurprisingly, is lounging on the cream-coloured waterfront. The sand’s as soft as cotton, and comes with tiki bars, parks and street entertainers for company. After three hours of chill time, you’ll board the coach for the return journey to Tampa.

Sunset helicopter tour of Tampa
You’ll get a bird’s eye view of Tampa on this afternoon trip, which flies you above the city’s rooftops as the sun sets. You’ll start with a bus transfer to Busch Gardens, where you’ll get a quick safety demo before boarding a helicopter and lifting off. You’ll spend half an hour in the air, hovering above the St Pete Times Forum – the city’s sports arena – the Florida Aquarium and the University of Tampa. Snap pictures as the sun casts an orange glow across the skyscrapers, and your pilot follows the course of the Alafia River back across the city. Just so you know, you’ll need to bring photo ID for this trip – a passport or driving licence will do.

Everglades Adventure
This tour gives you a fast-paced introduction to Florida’s world-famous eco-system, the Everglades. You’ll skim over the surface of the park’s shallow waters on an airboat. Snapshot of Miami
This tour does exactly what it says on the tin, giving you a snapshot of the so-called Magic City. Florida’s buzzing metropolis is just a short hop from Fort Lauderdale. You’ll start with a scenic drive through some of the city’s most popular neighbourhoods. South Beach is up first. Here, white-sand beaches and colour-popping Art Deco architecture sets the scene. You’ll pass the Versace Mansion – the former home of late fashion designer Gianni Versace, now a seriously swanky hotel. Then it’s on to Star Island, which has been home to celebs like P. Diddy and Shaquille O’Neal. Back on the mainland, you’ll head past Miami’s Cuban quarter, Little Havana, and upscale Coconut Grove. Next, you can admire the grand Mediterranean-style architecture in Coral Gables. This place is famous for the extravagant Venetian Pool and the Biltmore Hotel, where you’ll stop for a quick photo. You’ll finish things off with free time at the Bayside Marketplace.
