This trip sees you climbing aboard a larger-than-life monster truck for a tour of a colossal ice cap. Your destination is Langjökull, Iceland’s second-largest glacier. It sprawls out for a whopping 953 kilometres, and its highest peak soars 1,450m above sea level. You’ll trundle across the ice and snow, getting panoramic views of the vast, white landscape. Afterwards, you’ll enjoy a scenic ride through the picturesque Húsafell woodlands, where you’ll stop to refuel with finger sandwiches and warming bowlfuls of Icelandic soup. The final leg of the trip sees you journey to two of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls, Hraunfoss and Barnafoss, the latter of which cascades from a lava field. Your trip back to the port includes a drive through the Hvalfjordur tunnel, which winds 165 metres below sea level, and along the coast.
