You’ll wander the winding lanes of Cork’s French Quarter on this walking tour, passing sweet-smelling chocolate shops and patisseries as you go. Plus, you’ll see the city’s English market, where you can check out some of the local delicacies on offer. One of the more bizarre ones is ‘crubeen’ – pigs feet boiled with the hoof on. Cork is a city that’s shrouded in history, and as your guide steers you through its centre, you’ll hear the story of the French Protestants who flocked here in the 17th century to escape persecution. You’ll see St Finbarr’s Cathedral, an early French gothic building that’s lined with medieval gargoyles and ornate carvings, and you’ll pass the Crawford Art Gallery and the Opera House. The tour ends in a traditional Irish pub, where you can relax over a pint of Guinness.
