As well as wine tasting in Vrisnik and a walking tour of Stari Grad, this tour ticks off a couple of Hvar’s most scenic drives. The route to Stari Grad traces the serpentine coast and mountainous country roads. You might even get a glimpse of the UNESCO-listed Stari Grad Plain – a huge field that’s been farmed continuously since Ancient Greek times. The harbour town of Stari Grad is our endpoint. It’s famous for its long, skinny bay and red-roofed houses. Highlights of the hour-long walking tour include the turreted Dominican monastery. Pinjata is our next stop – a stone village tucked away in the hills. You’ll get the chance to sip full-bodied local wines concocted in the surrounding vineyards of Vrboska and Jelsa before heading back to Hvar Town.
