You’ll get to sample Lebanon city life on this tour, plus you’ll see one of the country’s most beautiful spots – the Jeita Grotto. The latter is the first stop of the day. This place is made up of two huge caverns that span a length of almost 9 kilometres. You’ll catch a cable car to the upper cave, to tackle the craggy terrain inside on foot. As you pick a path around the ancient limestone walls, your guide will point out the dramatic stalagmites and stalactites that have formed over thousands of years. You’ll enjoy a boat ride around the lower grotto, gliding slowly through the turquoise waters. The whole place is as close to being inside Aladdin’s cave as it gets. From here, you’ll be driven to Lebanon’s capital, Beirut. A city that combines old and new, it’s a hotchpotch of sand-coloured mosques, ancient squares and gourmet restaurants. You’ll have time here to explore the place on foot with your guide, before heading back to the ship.
