You’ll take in two of Lebanon’s most fascinating cities on this trip – the energetic capital, Beirut, and timeworn Byblos. Things kick off with a drive to Byblos. Thought to be around 7,000 years old, it’s a beautiful city full of sand-coloured buildings, walled gardens, faded churches, and sunny squares. While you’re here, you’ll visit the Crusader’s Castle, a limestone fort built back in the 12th century. You’ll also see the Cathedral of St John-Marcus, and the city’s spice-scented souk, where you’ll get the chance to rummage the stalls for lanterns, pottery and jewellery. From here, you’ll drive on to Beirut. Lebanon’s capital is a mish-mash of food stalls, blush-coloured mosques and art galleries, so there’s plenty to see. You’ll whiz past the sights from the comfort of your air-conditioned coach, before arriving back at the port.
