This half-day tour shines a light on one of St Petersburg’s most visited landmarks. Plus, it’s got a bit of an arty theme, so don’t forget the camera. You’ll be driven to the Hermitage Museum, located in the Winter Palace on the banks of the Neva River. This enormous museum was founded in 1764, and today contains around three million exhibits. Even the Winter Palace itself is like a bit of artwork – it’s all built in the opulent Baroque style, and has 1,800 doors, 1,900 windows and 114 staircases. Your tour will show you French art from the 15th century as well as works of Impressionism. You’ll also get to see a collection of Italian Renaissance art, and pieces from the Dutch Masters. There’ll be time to visit the gift shop before making the journey back to port.
