On this full-day tour, you’ll see some of Iceland’s best natural wonders. Your guide will meet you at the port, and you’ll travel north to Deildartunguhver – the most powerful hot springs in Europe. The water here’s used to heat homes over 60 kilometres away. You’ll then head to see a couple of waterfalls – Hraunfoss and Barnafoss. They’re out in the sticks, surrounded by wild scenery. Think grassy hills and open plains. After a stop for lunch at Húsafell farm, you’ll leave the bus behind and travel by truck to Langjökull Glacier. It’s the second largest glacier in Iceland, and you’ll head into the heart of it during a two-hour visit to the manmade caves that are carved into it. Scientists use the 30-metre-deep caves to study the thousand-year-old ice and the effects climate change has on the glacier. There’s an ice bar and an ice chapel here, too. After your guide’s shown you around, you’ll get back on the truck for a drive back to Húsafell. The coach will be waiting there to drive you back to the port.
