The gardens at Powerscourt are some of the finest in Ireland, and this half-day excursion is a chance to explore them at your leisure. Powerscourt Estate’s perched at the foot of the Great Sugar Loaf Mountain in County Wicklow. The house, originally commissioned in the 1730s, was gutted by a fire in 1974, but the gardens continue to be maintained. The grounds are on a grand scale, lined with thriving trees, shrubs and flowers, with elegant statues hidden throughout. A guide will be able to tell you all about the history of the estate, plus you’ll have free time to explore before returning to the ship.
