On this tour, you’ll get a good glimpse at the city of Aqaba, before sitting down for a traditional Jordanian lunch in the desert at Wadi Rum. From the port, you’ll drive by coach through Aqaba, stopping at the Arab Revolt Plaza for a few photos. Here you’ll see the Flag of the Arab Revolt on a 449-foot-high flagpole – one of the tallest in the world. The flag was originally used during the First World War by nationalists fighting the Ottoman Empire. So today, it’s an important landmark in Jordan’s history. From here, you’ll then drive to Wadi Rum, one of the largest and most beautiful desert valleys in the country. You’ll stop by the visitor centre, where you can take some photos of the panoramic desert landscape, which was made famous by the story of Lawrence of Arabia. You’ll then head to Captain’s Desert Camp, for lunch in a traditional Bedouin tent. Tuck into Arabic salads and meaty kebabs before driving back to the port.
