You’ll get to see some of Jordan’s ancient and world-renowned sites up close on this full day tour. Starting off at the port, you’ll drive for two and a half hours to Little Petra. You’ll get to wander around the old cisterns and archaeological sites here, before getting back on the bus for a 30-minute drive to the City of Petra. Starting at the visitor’s centre, you’ll go on a guided tour around the ancient city. Petra’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so there’s a lot to see here. On your two-and-a half-hour visit, you’ll walk through old riverbeds, with walls that are over 300 feet high. Take photos of ancient tombs and temples before reaching Al Khazneh, the iconic world wonder that’s carved straight into the red rock face. After the tour, you’ll make your way on foot to the Petra Palace Hotel, where you’ll have a buffet lunch. Tuck into Arabic and Italian dishes like tabbouleh and pasta, before browsing the local souvenir stalls. All that’s left now is a drive back to the port.
This is a great tour if you’ve been to Petra before and want to see a little bit more. Due to the amount of walking, steps and uneven ground, this tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with walking difficulties. Comfortable footwear is essential. We also recommend you take a bottle of water and a jacket as it may be cold in the mountains.
