On this tour, you’ll hit the water and see Belize from behind the wheel of a power boat. You’ll travel down the coast to the mangrove-laced Almond Hill Lagoon. After a quick safety briefing, drive your 13-foot-long mini power boat through the swamps to Black Creek. You’ll follow a guide, but you set the pace to a speed you’re comfortable with. Stay on the lookout for Belize-native birds like egrets, vultures and eagles on your 50-minute boat ride. Or try to spot the crocodiles that make their nests on the shore in the thick treeline. Your boat’s fitted with a quieter, environmentally friendly engine, so you’ve got a good chance of seeing something. After your boat ride, there’s time to enjoy a free tropical Belizean rum punch, before getting on the bus back to the port.
