You’ll see West Salalah from all angles on this half-day trip along the coast. You’ll be picked up at the port and driven through town to Mughsail Beach. Watch the waves here hit the rocks on the shore – they make splashes just like a whale’s blowhole. When you’re done at the beach, you’ll drive along steep cliffs and winding hairpin roads to see frankincense trees, which grow in the valleys around Salalah and are used for oils and incense. From here, after a 45-minute drive, you’ll visit the 40-foot-long tomb of Nabi Imran – who’s believed to be the father of the Virgin Mary in Islam. Walk through the tomb and around the gardens, before heading to the Al Haffah souk near the beach. Shop around the market and get a drink at one of the cafés. All that’s left now is a short drive back to port.
