You might not know much about the desert city of Salalah, but you’ll be an expert by the end of this tour. You’ll start off by travelling from the port to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, in the city centre, for a few photos. The mosque’s named after the ruler of Oman and is the largest one here. You’ll then get to see a rarely seen side of Oman with a visit to a fruit plantation. Shop for locally produced fruits and coconut water before driving 10 minutes through the city to the Museum of the Frankincense Land. Incense is grown north of Salalah and is a huge part of Omani culture. Learn about the two at one of the city’s largest museums. Afterwards, you’ll go and see where the Sultan of Oman lives when he stays in Salalah, at the Al Hosn Palace. After a quick stop for photos of its golden ornaments, sandy stone walls and outer gardens, the last place you’ll visit’s a souk – a market that sells Omani incense and souvenirs. From here, you’ll finish the tour with a drive back to port.
