Like the name suggests, this excursion sets you up for some impressive photos. You’ll start by driving along Vung Tau’s coast, stopping off at some first-class vantage points. The oceanfront Temple of Nirvana is one of the photo stops – it’s considered one of the prettiest pagodas in these parts. Another pagoda on the list is the Whale Temple, which is home to a whale skeleton worshiped by locals. Plus, you’ll get to see the giant Jesus statue that sits on top of Vung Tau’s Small Mountain. At 32 metres tall, it almost squares up to the 38-metre-high Christ the Redeemer, its Brazilian cousin. You’ll also get to take in the views from sea level at Vung Tau Beach. Your trip will end with some free time, where you can relax and enjoy a welcome drink at a beach front coffee shop, before heading back to the ship.
You’ll need to dress modestly when visiting religious sites. Knees and shoulders need to be covered, you’ll also need to take off your shoes before entering the temples. The journey time is approximately 1 hour each way.
- SUITABILITY Moderate physical activity.
